Very evocative photos @Dovefromabove ......sounds like a place we need to visit.  Glad you enjoyed your birthday break.

Dunwich sounds gorgeous. We've just booked a week in Snowdonia, a place I've never been to, so looking forward to that.

@Pat E - can't you go to your son's place or into Canberra itself? I think I would be going anywhere for a week or two where there's no fire.

There isn’t really anywhere, Lizzie. The fire that’s heading towards Canberra has now crossed the highway between us and them, so we wouldn’t be able to get through. Best place for us would be Cooma (our local town).  We’re ok for now. Watching all the time.

Our autumn still has a month to go before it starts,  but it’s the rain and cooler weather that would make a difference.

Chicky I hope it cools down before your visit.

It’s almost time for bed here (nearly midnight), so we will probably go to bed soon. See you all in February.

Today isn't a good day, so I'm better off saying nothing.

  • Went to our favourite GC today I had vouchers for my recent birthday, just as well spent a small fortune again. Had a lovely steak dinner tonight OH had planned it for last week but we ended up at her No 1 daughters for dinner  on Sunday so luckily it had a long date. Enjoying a Cru Cote du Rhone at the moment so tomorrow may be a late start.

We've also enjoyed a good steak dinner tonight followed by homemade gooseberry (our own) crumble and a bottle of good English fizz.  Feeling quite sqiffy now!

Been such a quiet day I wasn't sure what to write about! Feeling of impending doom about Brexit.

Another steak meal here! We had a treat tonight, fillet steak. Leclerc had a one day, never seen before, half price sale on fillet joints. So I bought one to cut into steaks, froze the rest. It was melt in the mouth. OH got out a bottle of red. Just the one bottle but we did drink all of it
