    Morning all and evening Pat.
I am so glad you have somewhere to retreat to Pat. Stay strong.

OH is now coldy. He is suggesting that my sore throat was one virus and the ‘cold’ is a different one, as he went straight to the cold with no sore throat. Either way, a sniffy weekend is ahead.

Christmas tree and decs all away now, apart from some vases of greenery which I might refresh and keep for a while longer.

You must have the best fed birds around Busy! I haven’t seen the Fieldfares this year - they usually have a feast on the windfall apples and the creatures hiding in those about December/January time. It has been milder though.

Fingers crossed @Pat E . We're watching the news closely. Keep safe.

Getting ready to go up to my aunt's funeral in Grimsby early next week, which had been delayed because of the Xmas period  We've all been asked to wear something 'leopard print', no, I don't know either! I've bought a scarf and a padded headband, which I'm taking apart to make OH a 'hankie' to go in his suit breast pocket. I'm also going to use the left over material somehow to decorate the wicker handbag my aunt bought me some 60 years ago which I thought would be nice to take with me.

I'm still 'twinging' as well Busy-Lizzie so no gardening for me today. Painkillers are helping but I'm trying not to bend too much! The joys of getting older.
Hope everyone with lurgies are getting better.

Thanks everyone for kind wishes. We are safe in Canberra. Have spoken to one of our friends who have stayed to fight any outbreaks near their house. They’re ok so far.

Following on from my earlier post, the results of my efforts today.

I think my aunt would approve, she was a very stylish lady, as was her sister,my Mum. The handbag is about 60 years old now.

    Thanks @AuntyRach.
Not looking forward to the funeral, (our fifth in the last 12 months) it's going to be very emotional, lots of cousins going but we'll give her a good send off.

    Morning all.
How are you doing @Pat E?
I was up early having a tea and pain tablets because my sinuses really hurt but I was thinking - this really is nothing compared to what some of you are dealing with. Going back to bed now, although will sit up as the sinus pain is worse lying down. I will listen to some podcasts and see if I can drift back off.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Hope the lurgy is getting easier for everyone. Sinus pain is horrid @Lizzie27 ☹️ OH is still coughing ...

Thinking of @Pat E and all those affected by the fires.

Hi AuntyRach and Dove. Yes everyone is fed up. The smoke haze is still hanging around.
We’re going home tomorrow. The weather seems to have quietened down a bit for a while, but who knows what is ahead.
