Michael Portillo's train journey was in Thailand yesterday. Beautiful scenery and the people were nice, very polite. I hope Chicklet has a great time @chicky

She’s spending a fair amount of time on trains @Busy-Lizzie .....I’ll tell her she is walking in Michael’s footsteps 👣

Good morning.  Cold, grey and wet here again.  Leclerc for us too as tomorrow I'm off to a patchwork and crafty fair at Cholet with some pals.

I've recorded the Michael Portillo's progs for when I'm cooking or pottering in the kitchen while OH has endless sport on in the living room.   My seeds have arrived from the RHS and a packet of Sashiko fabric has arrived from Paris for our workshop on the 10th so I have plenty of sorting out to do this pm before dance class.

Hope everyone's day goes well whatever you're up to.

All this bad weather is very bad for my wallet, just ordered some more plants on line.

Wetter here now but also warmer.   Doing my best not order plants online @punkdoc but it's so tempting.

Afternoon all.  Dull and drizzly here too, but at least it's warmed up a bit.

Fortunately or unfortunately, my garden is not yet at the stage where I can reasonably accommodate many plants, so I'm managing not to order anything - I need to get rid of the builders first, and make Plans.  They're in my head at the moment (the plans, not the builders...).  Mail order might well be the way to go for shrubs, eventually; garden centres around here are few and far between, and tend to sell mostly bog standard varieties.  But there's an excellent perennial nursery a few miles away, run by a couple of Dutch friends, so when there are borders waiting to be filled I'll go and see how far my budget will stretch.  :)

That's going to be a fab greenhouse, @chicky.  Your builders are tidier than ours... I have a regular trawl round outside to collect up bits of plastic, coffee cups, cigarette butts etc.  But we can't complain really - they are cheerful, hardworking fellas who are keen to keep disruption to a minimum.  At the moment there's a huge dehumidifier drying out the extension, making a constant "white noise", suitable for soothing one to sleeeeep......

It'll soon be over @Liriodendron and then the fun can start.

It is positively pouring down now and the ditches are full, there's water from springs overflowing in fields that are normally bone dry and we have surface water too in the drive and new rose garden.  Elsewhere too no doubt but too wet to go and see.

Not really in the mood for sewing so I shall sit and draw out my plans for a new terrace/seating/dining area and work out concrete volumes instead.

I was wondering @Lyn how your luffa experiment worked last year.

First day back at work was great. I only had 3 drops but as it was raining, I wasn't too bothered.
We've been to Thailand a few times , various parts and loved it so much. The people , the beaches and the weather are all divine and the food is sensational.
