Thank you Hostafan,  hope he’ll be ok, it’s very soon, how long will they keep him in.?

Hello all, and happy birthday @Lyn.  Glad to hear hubby is improving, @Hostafan1.

Best wishes to all with coughs and other ailments.  Here I'm trying to cheer up my miserable hubby, temporarily (we hope) disabled by a very painful back which keeps going into spasm.  We did manage a short walk this afternoon, on the grounds that exercise is supposed to be good for back problems, and that he'd be uncomfortable whatever he was doing so he might as well get some fresh air...

I find an extended hot shower targeting the water on the appropriate part of the back, help when I tweak my back.

Thank you for the helpful suggestions... unfortunately he doesn't drink, but he's currently reading some Jane Austen and listening to his favourite music, which he says is taking his mind off his back.   :)

  • Hostafan,
I had my gall bladder removed as an emergency 4 years ago. Life has been much more comfortable since. Recovery didn't take all that long, I found my taste buds played havoc for quite a while afterwards. Everything seemed very sweet or salty but it gradually returned to normal. I felt as if I had been kicked around a field by a horse for a few weeks but again, it wore off.
    Good luck.

    Evening all.
Been in work today! Sunday pay though 😉 plus a cooked brekky 😋

I am a fan of the hot shower blast on pain and those microwave hot pads/cushions are also good. Something to take your mind off is essential too.

    Happy Birthday Lyn.

Take care all those with miffs, woes or ailments.

@Joyce Goldenlily, I've spoken to a few friends who've had it done and they all say " it's the best thing they've ever had done"
Hospital does it keyhole, so in , done , and out in a day. Fingers crossed the surgeon has a slot soon after I see him on Friday

I hope Lyn had a happy birthday.

We went to the pantomime in Norwich, Cinderella, which was great, really well done, good singing, dancing, special effects. The coach and white animated horse were amazing and flew in the air, the horse had wings.
