Hello everyone. Sorry so many of you are not well and sympathies to Chicky and family for Dads worry. I’m glad they have found the cause of your pain episodes Hosta. I must admit that I suspected it was that, having suffered gall stones sone years ago.

Off to town this morning for something to do, since I can’t face housework.🙄
    catch up later.

  • Good morning all  :) ☕️
    hope you’re enjoying your shopping trip @Pat E 🛒
    🛍
I had a night of two halves ... the first half was horrid, tossing and turning and coughing. The second half was deeeeeep sleeeeeep until just now. At least I feel a bit rested ... but now I have a really rattly chest 🙄
I wonder how @punkdoc ‘s doing ... is he a day behind me or is he keeping up?  😂
We have sausages in the fridge so OH can rustle up sausage egg chips and beans for supper; there’s the second half of a tin of soup for lunch and at least we have plenty of bread now so an easy lunch is catered for.
I shall stay on the sofa ... I wonder if I’ll do some knitting ... I’ve not felt like it for the past couple of days which is very unusual for me.  🤔 I could start writing the Christmas cards ...
How are the rest of you doing?

  • Thank you @Pat E   :)   you're very kind ... it's a rotten cold ... the worst I've had for years ... but it is only a cold ... no aching limbs or very high temperatures .... I've had 'flu and this isn't it (and anyway I've had the 'flu jab).  This will clear up ... it's just a right PITA at the moment but at least it should be gone by Christmas  :D

  • Yay!  I've found a bottle of Covonia cough mixture in the back of the cupboard  :)

    Hi all.
Yes, cold in full swing here too, @Dovefromabove, although mine is more horrid snottiness and lethargy.

You could make your own @Dovefromabove.
    • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
    • 2 tablespoons honey
    • 2 tablespoons water
    • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

Place in a small jar and shake to combine.  Keep at room temperature and shake again before using.  1 tbs per adult.

Haven't tried it myself yet but have it on standby to use after that last cold.   Funnily enough, there's a bar in the main square in Toulouse that sells a cold prevention "shot" which is the same but has fresh grated ginger and no cayenne.  Delish.

  • Thanks @obelixx ... I've got all the ingredients, including fresh ginger ... I'll make some of that a bit later on ... yes @punkdoc ... it seems that lethargy is a definite shymptom  :/
