Drove back from Cornwall last night in very heavy rain,  middle of Bodmin Moor A30 is bleak at the best of times.  Miles of it coned off again until next March, (that will probably be May)
Thunder and lightening gales and torrential rain,  two power cuts but I took the precaution of unplugging phone, internet and aerial.

All quite sunny and calm this morning,  hopefully it stays that way, OH is bogged down with work before Christmas.  All dependant on dry weather.

I'm off to the £1 shop to get some iPad leads, best ones I’ve ever bought.

Thank goodness for that Hosta.  I haven’t been out yet to see, don’t think I’ve got much to blow away, all spare plants are in the compost bin so nothing in the blowaways.  Haven’t even put the covers on them this year.

Oh yes, definitely Hosta, safely in the GH now.

  • Morning @Lyn and @Hostafan1 ... we know that bit of the A30 quite well ... can be a bit bleak and blustery!

Glad there's no wind damage down there.  The wind's just picking up here.  I'm still coughing ... apparently it kept more than just me awake :astonished:

    Whew!!

  • We had 2 consecutive power outs late last week even without a Gail. The microwave was on at the time  of the first one & it got very confused. Luckily I was able to re-set it eventually. A friend of ours had her CH boiler go on the blink as a result. It seems modern electronics can't cope with this sort of thing. (perhaps this should be on the curmudgeons thread).
Wind is picking up here a bit but at least it's dry & bright for a change.

    This made me laugh:
    From BBC Website
"In Bude, a road was closed after part of a Sainsbury's supermarket roof came off on Sunday night.
The supermarket said the store remained closed on Monday morning but staff were working hard to reopen. The spokesman said the popular Bude supermarket tunnel, which topped TripAdvisor ratings last year, was safe."

  • I'm sure that's a relief @Hostafan1 ...  ;)
