It's never good to lose someone you love be it good friend or family or even much loved pet.   My sympathies to @Busy-Lizzie and all others mourning loved ones.

Sympathies and get well wishes to all those suffering with lurgies whether short or long term.   Let's hope time and appropriate diagnoses and treatments do the trick.

Absolutely cr*p day today.  Lousy weather, lousy mood, lousy knee.   Start injections on Tuesday so I sincerely hope that'll fix one problem.

Meanwhile, I'm busy researching Sashiko for a sewing club workshop in the New Year.  Who knew there were so many variations???  Boggling.

I shall go and make a wind-proofing tunnel for our catflap which we have cleverly had installed on the prevailing windward side of the shower room.   Doh!

    Good morning all 🤧 ☕️

The whole point of Banksy’s works isn’t whether they’re ‘good’ or not ... it’s what they are saying.

I know p, but there are lots of street artists that ‘say’ something. In fact that’s probably the only reason they do it, not counting the yob with the spray can. Why are his so revered.

  • Because they are much more 'to the point'  and relevant to current political situations than most;  they prick pomposity and point the finger at hypocrisy and greed with wit, intelligence and elegance. The equivalent of some of the great political cartoons of earlier eras.  Also their appearance is usually subtle, not in your face and obtrusive so not glaringly disfiguring their surroundings.

The people of the West Country should be proud of their 'people's artist'.

    Thanks folks.
On a much happier note, OH has just had the results back from his MRI scan in under a week) - and it's clear, thank goodness!

I quite like the Banksy's now, but don't understand how he gets to do them at night? without anybody at all noticing.

    Great news, Lizzie.

Did anyone watch the Glenda Jackson film the other night on the BBC  called 'Elizabeth is Missing' ? We watched it tonight and I  thought it was excellent. The story was intriguing and poignant. We both enjoyed it.But it was a bit of a shock seeing Glenda looking so old, I haven't seen her for years.

We watched it Lizzie thought she was brilliant, hard to think back to the D.H. Lawrence portrayals she used to do.  She’s been a very busy lady both acting and political, what a life she’s had.
