Greetings all.  I have been busy in the kitchen chopping fruits for our Xmas Creole cake which involves soaking the fruits in lots of booze and spices for a week and then baking with just enough flour, sugar, eggs etc to hold it all together.   It's then ready to eat as soon as it's cooled but we usually end up not getting to ours till nearly Esater when it makes a very good "energy bar" for weary gardeners.

Also have a pissaladière in the oven for a late lunch - dinner dance tonight.

I was in touch with Lily P in late September but haven't heard from her since.  She was hoping to be well enough to go to Oz in November so may be away or else is not well at all.   Worrying.

Cheer up Pdoc.  I know you're depressed but it would have been worse with a Corbyn landslide in every sense or another hung parliament.   Just have to make the best of it now and maybe a bit more vigilant and less accepting of corruption, disonesty and incompetence in our politicians and public servants and not just belat amongst ourselves.

Hugs to all poorly ones too.  I hope your lady likes her wreath @WonkyWomble

Hello all. I was up this morning. I have made 6L for this afternoon's Carol Service and packed the car with service booklets in French and English, floral decorations, mince pies, the Gospel readings in a folder, napkins. Hope that's it. See you later.

    Afternoon folks.
Just finished a 20 hour shift of Aunty Duty! We had a lovely evening - decorated the tree and then watched a Christmas film. I will await the arrival of my Christmas cold now 🤧

Hope you all are doing ok.

I messaged LilyPily in November too, and no reply. If you are looking in...thoughts to you and your family.

I must go to bed soon - had a very festive and sociable lunch friends today. I do like a traditional turkey dinner and Christmas pud!  Especially if I don't have to make it. Traffic surprisingly light for a Saturday.

  • Hi to all; got our tree in while it was dry this am, needed quite a bit of "adjustment" to fit it to the stand. Now I need to summon up the energy for a trip to the loft to get the decorations.  We got sidetracked with other jobs earlier. Might need to go up in the morning as my OH is not keen on me going up there now.
