Pat E, you can definitely have some of our rain. I bought autumn garlic, broad, beans, peas, bulbs, havent managed to get any in. Most days either rain, our the veg plot under water, it slopes downwards. We have had the odd dry day, but of cours, not enough the dry out the ground. Hubby got out there yesterday, shored up a big arch, which is been listing dangerously in the very high winds. Last Monday week, we both got out there, lifting dahlias, chopping down the asparagus feernery, tidying up dead stuff, I got so hot, first the hat came off then the coat, when the sun goes down, was about 2 0 clock temp goes right down. We have had just 2 air, and one ground frosts this year.
I expect the south of France has rain to spare too @Pat E. Like Nanny Beach we have had so much rain I haven't got my garlic in yet either and have had to halt the tree and shrub planting programme because the soil is too wet to dig but the broad beans I sowed a couple of months ago look happy.
If it's not too late @Chicky, tell chicklet to have a good gander round the shops in the airport. Wonderful stuff like sari silks and cottons and, of course, all sorts of electronic/digital gadgets for silly prices - so much better than bloody Heathrow.
Off to patch after lunch, then mosaic group. Parsnip and maple syrup cake looks to have turned out well. Just need to slap on the topping before I leave.
OH has ironing to do while I'm out, now that he's finished faffing with the Xmas tree which is in its pot (ex galvanised laundry tub painted festive) and relaxing.
Have a double helping of the magic ginger mix before you go @Dovefromabove and you should be fine for long enough to get your hair cut.
Hope everyone gets everythig done that they need to so we can all enjoy a good break, even if we're not feeling festive.

Definitely much improved ... I've changed the sheets, turned the mattress (well, I supervised that bit) descaled the kitchen, cleaned the hob and hood and fitted a new filter, swept and washed the floor, wrapped a parcel and made a celeriac remoulade ... think that probably means I'm well on the mend. Still a bit of an 'acking cawf but I feel like me and not something unpleasant on the sole of a shoe.
Hope others with lurgy are also on the mend

Wonky has texted me and told me to rest this afternoon so I'd better do as I'm told. OH has come back from doing his Christmas shopping so I'll put my feet up and get the knitting out.

My feet are up and I’m knitting as well.. Karen bought a round ball of wool with Pom Pom attached in Lidl, you just keep knitting and it makes into a hat. I need a cup of tea so I suppose I’ll have to get up soon.

Oooh that sounds like fun @Hostafan1 🥴NOT ... and they’ve seen the gallstones 🤔 Or do they think it might be a case of six of one and half a dozen of the other? There’s no rule that says we can only have one ailment at a time ... 🙄

Home from hospital with my gall bladder in place. Surgeon wants to to have an endoscopy to check for ulcer before whipping the GB out.
