    Morning peeps 😀

Great news about Mr @Lizzie27 😀😀😀

About to go and exercise my democratic right.  Also voting by proxy for littlest chicklet, who jumped through the necessary hoops to get the forms filled in and sent over air mail from Australia.  Nice to know she takes her responsibilities seriously 👍🏻.

Then more hospital appointments with my Dad.  And probably a SM trip for him too as he can’t drive any more.

Have a good day folks ....use your vote wisely ✅
  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️
I had a much better night, thanks @Hostafan1 .... coughing merrily now tho’ 🙄
A sharp frost here this morning, there’s a clear pinky blue sky, and the bin men are doing their rounds ...

    Hi all.
Cold and wet, snow forecast for later.
Off to vote now, with a heavy heart.

I'm rather embarrassed to admit, I've just woke up.
Will be voting as well today. Rocks and hard places spring to mind.
    Devon.
  • Good morning @Hostafan1 :) you obviously needed the rest  ;)

Thankfully I applied for a postal vote after my difficulty voting when I broke my foot, so I've already voted ... tactically .... it's a shame I feel compelled to do it but it's the lesser of two evils.

Someone once said something along the lines of  democracy isn't a destination, it's a journey ... you get onto the bus that's heading nearest to your chosen destination ... you may have to walk on your own the rest of the way.

    Voted.
For the first time since we have known each other, Moira and I voted differently.

    My parents always voted differently.

Back from town, nightmare. The demonstrators against Macron's pension reforms were out in force. Impossible to get into the 2 car parks nearest the printers. I had to take back streets to come into town from the other direction for another car park some way away, an underground that was built for very small cars and I have an estate car. When I came out of the pedestrian exit the protesters were all over the street so I lost my bearings and set off in the wrong direction.

But I arrived at the GC on the way home, just before it closed for lunch, and bought a Christmas tree.

Still raining. F from the village is coming soon to help make bunches of greenery for decorating the pews at the Carol Service. Glad I picked it yesterday so it's had a chance to dry out. The birds have eaten all the berries so we'll make do with red present wrapping ribbon.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Businesses closing for lunch? and folk wonder why shops are closing left, right and centre.
Not that I'm suggesting you buy a christmas tree online.

It's called 'being civilised' @Hostafan1 . ;) .. folk have a proper lunch and a chance to relax and socialise  .... most shops then remain open a bit later in the evening.  IME they also open a bit earlier in the morning than shops here do.  Have you not been watching Rick Stein's Secret France ......... if not I recommend a bit of binge watching  ;)
