    I'm sure that's a relief @Hostafan1 ...  ;)
My heart has calmed at last . Whew

  • Hurrumph!!! Half our back fence and our small garden shed are in someone else's back garden!  OH is out there trying to sort it out ... he won't let me go out to help ...

We are a bit too keen to talk about heroes today, people like this really were heroic.
Sorry to here about your storm damage @Dovefromabove
Still feeling very under the weather, so inactivity is being pursued.
How can you lie there and think of England

  • Absolutely agree @punkdoc ... true heroes all of them.

Sorry you're still feeling grim ... I'm still coughing like a good 'un and have been sent back to the sofa.  Thanks for the commiserations re the fence ... OH says the posts have snapped  :/   it'll be a while before we can get anyone to sort that out ... It's only about two and a half panels but ...
OH has been round to the neighbour with a note saying we'll get it fixed asap but what with Christmas/New Year and waiting lists it'll probably take a while.  He's a single chap and I don't think he has any pets, and neither do we thank goodness, so hopefully he won't see it as urgent.

Maybe this should be in curmudgeons' corner, but I've been signed off work for a week whilst I'm "under investigation".
    I'm very grumpy now.
Sign of a big storm last night: car covered in salt when we went out this morning ( we're 12 miles inland)

  • And so I should hope @Hostafan1 ... don't want you being taken queer  all on your lonesome in the middle of Bodmin Moor  ;)

We are having gusts of wind here too. I hope OH gets your shed back safe and sound @Dovefromabove

We've been to the SM and done Christmas shopping. Think the 13 grandchildren are sorted now. Had lunch at the Wok place so I don't need to cook this evening.

  • OH has manfully manhandled the shed back into our garden and upright ... it's only a sentry box type so he's put the contents in the garage and weighed it down by putting a cast iron chiminea inside it.  Hopefully that'll be ok.  I've got some recommendations from the Next Door website for local fencing folk, so I've left a phone message for one of them and we'll see how we go ...

"Next Door" is handy isn't it Dove? That's how we found the tree pruning man.
