Our MP is the Attorney General who lied to the Queen, PM, Parliament and the people of this country that proroguing was legal. He was also ticked off by the Standards commitee in Parliament for when he " forgot to declare £300,000 of income"  but he'll still get back in here.
Boris is still saying "40 new hospitals" even though it's only 6 . and "50,000 NEW nurses ( including 31,000 who are already working there!!!!!)
The man is a liar of the highest order. He promised he'd rather be " dead in a ditch " rather than NOT "getting it done by Oct 31st"
I guess , like all Dictators he'll just sack anyone who disagrees with him
I've got friends who've voted Tory all their lives who can't vote for him, likewise I've friends who've voted Labour all their lives who can't vote for Corbyn.
I fear we're about to have the most  divisive , right wing, uncaring , self-interested government since Thatcher.
I fear for our children and grandchildren and I fear for this country

I know a lot of people here don't go along with my 'man is flocking animal - we're a mumuration...' , but I think that is what you're seeing in action. The more the memes '...we're fed up with Brexit...' and '...just get it done..' and shoved in the public's face the more they take hold and the more they stick. A bit like people constantly asking you '...are you ok...you don't look well...' you end up wondering if there's something wrong with you.
There's so much nonsense with Brexit eh? This constant use of 'good' and 'bad' - when good and bad are totally subjective - so my good Brexit deal is your bad deal. It's a total Trump'ism - where Trump, according to Trump, NEVER does anything that's bad - every deal, every action he makes is 'the best'. Just absolute nonsense. Cummings realised that you can blatantly lie and get away with it - as long as your 'front man' has that cheeky chappie bluster about him. It's just a clone of the Trump '..I could murder someone and my followers will still follow me...' idea.
Then there's the nonsense about Brexit not going through being 'un-democratic' - when it's exactly the opposite. What we all witnessed WAS democracy in action. I vote for an MP who generally has the same views as me - but not all our views are the same - and then they vote in Parliament for what they think is 'right'. That is democracy.

G_d I'm getting old and grumpy - I think I'll start writing letters to the editor of my local paper....

We've having our second general elections since the referendum: is anyone saying that's "undemocratic"?
A lot has been learned since the first one and over 3 years have passed. I fail to understand why anyone fears a second referendum on Brexit. If folk are so convinced of their position they should have nothing to fear.

Bojo happily described Muslim women as "looking like letter boxes" and " bank robber " and gay men a " tank-topped bum boys "
In a 1995 Spectator article, the PM wrote that single mothers were raising a generation of "ill-raised, ignorant, aggressive and illegitimate children" even though he won't admit how many single mothers are looking after his children , nor how many there are.
And this is the man who seems like to be our MP after today.
So much for the Tories saying " no more nasty party " They're getting worse
    Theresa May :
" You know what some people call us—the nasty party,” she said, sending a quiet shockwave through the room. “I know that’s unfair. You know that’s unfair. But it’s the people out there we need to convince, and we can only do that by avoiding behavior and attitudes that play into the hands of our opponents. No more glib moralizing, no more hypocritical finger-wagging.”
Clearly Bojochio wasn't listening, or , more likely , didn't care.

It is freezing here and very wet so I suspect only the dedicated and brave will vote. That includes me I should add even though the result is pretty easy to predict - Adam Afriyie (Con) again.  The temptation to write across my ballot paper is huge, something like bring back Theresa May ( although I have never voted con in my life) the best among dross.

I was unnerved when I found myself watching West Wing again and listening to the triumph of Obama on the news, I am resisting the temptation to watch the 1990 House of Cards again - too distressing.

Every generation has had its problems and survived them, no doubt whatever the outcome the next generation will do the same.

I can't believe people are actually considering voting conservative this time. After all the lies and u-turns on every policy they made, with Boris the most incompetant politician ever in charge who has a track record of making terrible decisions and wasting public money throughout his career. Their manifesto is dire on many levels, they have no MPs with any integrity left and above all how can you trust them not to further erode democracy after the last 12 months? They led us into this Brexit mess and have proven they can't get us out of it multiple times now. They're an embrassment to the country.
I can't stand Boris, but the alternative is truly terrifying to me.

Terrifying for us as well.  Labour party is not to be trusted and their economic record is appalling.

IMHO Neither Labour, nor Conservatives are fit to govern with their current leaders/ internal divisions.
Unfortunately one of them will win.
