I am starting as I mean to go on @Obelixx, with a cheeky visit to Wisley. Was meant to be meeting a friend for lunch but she baled on me at 8.30 this morning......so I am having a solo birthday lunch and a nosey round the gardens. Ā Still plenty of colour here, with late flowerers and early autumn leaves šŸ šŸ‚. Ā The slightly drizzly weather means I have the gardens to myself ......everyone is in the cafe 🤪

Happy expedition planning @Dovefromabove .....the world’s your oyster 😃

Hope the agapanthus ā€œsqueezingā€ session is productive @Hostafan1 šŸ‘šŸ»

Also meant to say - just found a new podcast called ā€œfresh from the podā€ for those who like such things. Ā Chatty interviews with celebrities from the garden world. Ā Nick Bailey kept me company on the way here, and I’m looking forward to hearing from Chris Beardshaw on the way home šŸ”Ā

They are obviously going to crane in one of those massive mature trees at a guess @chicky Lucky you having a solo trip round Wisley.

Agapanthus squeezing has been halted as it's 4pm and we've had no lunch.Ā
@chicky, a million years ago I was seeing a resident student at Wisley and we used to walk round " after hours" when it was shut, what a treat it was.

Blimey @chicky- that's about the size of my back gardenĀ  :D
Are you intending just gadding about generally, or are you doing any serious work in the garden?Ā  ;)
It's lovely that you're enjoying your free time. Shame your friend called off though. Have we missed your birthday?Ā  :o
Have a wee cake left over from mine ...might be a bit stale....

Have you solved your whitefly prob @Hostafan1?
I've been doing more hacking and slashing - trying to keep warm mainly. The sun didn't really materialise so it never reached double figs at all.
Compost bins are in position. Lots of sweet pea foliage for them.Ā
Had a nice wee walk earlier - crunchy leaves to walk through, and even better -crunchy beech nuts off one of the big treesĀ  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Evening. Still plenty of outdoor activities going on then. OH cut grass today - I wonder if that will be the last cut?Ā
Had my Flu jab today šŸ¤’ - if you are entitled to one (or even if not) I suggest you have one as the ā€˜sources’ are predicting a bad Flu year. This is based on the Australian Winter just gone apparently. My arm is quite sore tonight though.Ā
My cooking marathon on Saturday (well, two stews and a soup) is paying off tonight as zero effort required for supper plus I have leftover b&b pudding from yesterday too šŸ˜‹
    Have a good evening all.Ā
My garden and I live in South Wales.Ā

I'm with daughter 2, her OH, 3 sons and 94 roses. It was a much sunnier day than expected. We went to see an elderly rescue pony that they are getting next week to keep her son's pony company. Sweet pony, very calm, a Haflinger.

Oh @Busy-Lizzie Ā I love Haflingers ... such good natured, really pretty and in general a really great confirmation and the most comfortable canter I’ve ever experienced Ā ... one in particular called Katie belonged to a friend so I got regular rides Ā ... she was a complete sweetie. In her earlier life she pulled a carriage on Gt Yarmouth sea front.Ā

I had my jab a fortnight ago. I’ve been chivvying OH to have one and he eventually phoned today to book ... the first private appointment he can get at our local pharmacy is 18/11... they said there’s a high demand this year.Ā
