    Good morning - just.

It is cold and wet and grey here, so much so I am wearing jeans and long sleeves and need the light on my desk.Ā  Looks like te rain will go on for another couple of hours then stop briefly but we have surface water now so maybe not a good time to dig holes for my Japanese maples.Ā  Bit soggy.

No goats for me @Pat E.Ā  Too smelly.Ā  Friends in Belgium had them as neighbours at the end of their garden and it was not good being down wind.Ā  Ā Looks like Luc will put cows in and that suits me fine.

We have cards left over from last year @Dovefromabove, but not enough.Ā  Better order asap as they're not a French and Belgian thing and who knows what will happen to affect posting from the UK.

That orange man doesn't even have double standards.Ā  He is so incoherent and contradictory.Ā  Did anyone see Trevor McDonald talking about Saddam Hussein and his ministers last night?Ā  Must be a bit like that for the White House team too.

    How very dare you..... :D

I'm debating a coat,as well as other layers. The rain has gone off, so I think a wee walk will happen, but is it worth hanging out the washing, bearing in mind it's still single figs and not sunny?Ā  :/
I often wonder how the WH team control themselvesĀ  :#

    Our goats didn’t smell
... the females don’t ... it’s only the males ... if you look after them well, don’t keep a billy, and give your females a wash after they’ve been a’courting, you don’t get the smell,Ā
and if you filter and cool the milk straight after milking it tastes little different to cows milk.Ā

On several occasions visitors asked me if we’d got special milk in for them, as they drank their tea and ate their cornflakes ... both with goat’s milk. 😊

  • Did anyone else see Simon Reeve in the US talking to poor people (who could not afford to pay fines) getting locked up for simple traffic violations such as a broken tail light? So I agree if it was a Brit who had killed someone they would be getting life plus 50 years & no parole. I saw on another programme some time ago that is what another guy in prison there, got for murder when he was just 16. Worse there was doubt in the case but his family couldn't afford a lawyer, so he may not have done it.Ā

In some states he’d have got the death penalty ... and to think the current Home Secretary is in favour of that in the UK 😔 😭

You beat me to it Dove. It’s only the males that pee into their mouths to make themselves attractive to females. Besides I was suggesting borrowing one (female) goat until your corner was cleaned up. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Night all. I’m off to bed.Ā

It's not a corner @Pat E.Ā  It's a paddock and Luc's mechanical goat has done a good job of clearing and chomping the brambles, nettles, wildflowers and overgrown grass.Ā  Ā Today it's gettting a thorough soaking from on high.Ā Ā

Supposed to have dried up an hour ago but it is still persisting down.Ā  Fine by me.Ā  The dahlias love it and are producing longer stems.Ā  Ā We've treated them to a seep hose for next year.
