The Lifeboat launch went really well, my sister did a speech about Mummy and my brother, Richardās, love of sailing. The Archdeacon of Hastings did a service and we sang āFor those in Peril on the Seaā. I named the boat and poured the champagne on its brow, after telling about how once I crewed for my brother in a sailing race, there was a storm and everyone capsized and we were rescued by the RNLI. I was frozen, the only one not wearing a wetsuit. Then they launched the boat and demonstrated someone in the sea being rescued. Then there was loads to eat, supplied by M & S. My sister and I were interviewed for ITV and local newspapers.
Then all the family went to my sisterās. It was lovely to see them all, brothers, nieces, nephews and cousins.
We came back to Norfolk yesterday. I did some gardening in the afternoon, making my new bed, until I got too cold and wet. Raining today, we are going out to lunch, delayed birthday meal. Good day for it, not gardening weather.
Gotta love the lifeboat crews and their amazing boats @Busy-Lizzie ... we spent a great evening on Wednesday eating a delicious meal on a terrace right by the harbour-side at St Ives while the lifeboat and crew did their regular weekly practice launch and recovery etc. HeroesĀ every one of them. š Ā

@Busy-Lizzie what a great thing your family have done.Ā Started dry here but heavy shower put a stop to outdoor activities, wasted 50 mins on 'phone to royal free trying to re-book an eye clinc appt that THEY cancelled!
@Busy-Lizzie, a very worthwhile charity for your mum to have supported, thoughĀ it must have been a very emotional day for you and your family. My father and brother used to enjoy sailing (my brother still does) and we all support the RNLI.
It was an emotional day. I felt tears well up during my sister's speech. I still miss my brother and wonder what he would be doing now. We've kept in touch with his then steady girlfriend. The RNLI people were so nice.
OH took me out for a lovelyĀ lunch in Fressingfield. Torrential downpour on the way home.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Sounds like a lovely day @Busy-Lizzie .Ā I am absolutely shattered, we have stacked all of the wood in shed and I could happily drop off to sleep now.Ā Plan on doing absolutely nothing for the rest of the day.

Hope the car business is sorted for you.Ā
Hello all.
We went to Norfolk on the 23rd, have been quite busy. Then we went to stay with OH's daughter and family in Eastbourne for the launch of the coastal lifeboat that my mother left inĀ her Will to the RNLI in Hastings to be named after my brother who died when he was nearly 22. Can't remember if I've told you. https://www.hastingsobserver.co.uk/news/people/new-hastings-lifeboat-to-honour-mum-and-son-s-shared-love-of-the-sea-1-9086114

Good to seeĀ @Dordogne Damsel is back.Ā
Have you got waders at the ready @punkdoc?Ā Maybe divert your stream towards the unlovely neighbour?
