That's really lovely @Busy-Lizzie. I heard some quite negative stuff about the RNLI recently, so it's good to hear. We're going to have a nice sunset here. It's a wee bit chilly though. Heating will need to go on for half an hour. It's 8 degrees just now. The red admirals were out today on the Actea. They've only flowered in the last week which is a bit late, but they look lovely and the admirals like them so much. I might fall asleep soon. Been awake since 3am. Turning into you @Hostafan1 Must take a look at the link.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hi all. Thunder and rain here this first day of October. Midway through my course/exam few days - I’m blooming exhausted! Roll on long weeeknd! Hope all are ok. An emotional but special occasion for you @Busy-Lizzie. Take it easy folks.
St Ives lifeboatmen are heroes. I stood on the harbour wall one day, debating whether we would be going out diving, watching the flag flap wildly. Two booms and the whole town came to a halt as men were running to the station, and others took their places in their jobs/shops/etc. The lifeboat was rapidly launched, and went out to tow some people in a boat back in. It bought tears to my eyes. We had the day off. Fine line between bravery and stupidity.

I often hear them criticised - the organisation makes some very odd decisions sometimes. But that's the people in the office at HQ, not the people manning the boats. I saw a lifeboat launched on one of those old slipways once many years ago. They generally aren't used now. I think the new boats are all too big for the old boathouses. But watching the boat go into the sea with that huge swoosh - heart stopping - a sight never to forget. Glad you had a good day, BL
Haven't looked at the RIBA shortlist yet, @Hostafan1. I get very annoyed with the RIBA most years so have to get a run at that, when I'm feeling calm

Good morning all 😊 ☕️ Thank for that link @Hostafan1 ... we’re chuffed with the recognition of Goldsmith Street here in Norwich ... it’s built on a brownfield site where OH used to have a studio. Today is forecast to be dry ... OH says he’ll help me take down the runner beans, put the toms and courgettes on the compost heap and make sure the brassicas are firmly staked. 😊
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
We’ve got a frost forecast tonight 😱 Aaagggghhhhhh 🥶. I’m not ready for this ☃️☃️☃️☃️
In happier news, I have been invited for a “taster” day next week to see if I would enjoy being a volunteer at West Dean gardens. Ridiculously excited at the prospect 😀😀😀

Yes, Dove. Delicious food, beautifully presented, not pub grub.
Drove back slowly, tipping with rain, huge puddles.
