  • Good morning allĀ  :) I know I've been awol all week but have actually managed to read all missed posts this morning so am up to date with what's going on (a lot) with you all. Hospital saga sound horrendous, sad to hear about poor care & unnecessary upset to a 97 year old vulnerable old lady, very sad.Ā  :'(
Christmas in the lakes on the other hand sounds delightful.Ā  :)@punkdoc
Hello @raisingirl, thanks for the welcome.
@Busy-Lizzie - glad to see you're keeping up with the gardening in both homes, exhausting. I'm off to buy violas on Monday, they are on special offer at Gammvert I believe.Ā  :)
Hectic week here, birthday party for 38 last Friday evening, they booked a 5pm start for early evening 'nibbles' thinking it would be all over by 8pm, 1 o'clock in the morning I finally got to bed! Private dinner for 11 on Saturday evening, B&B all week as well as normal Tearoom business and then Curry Night this Friday, 51 booked, Lamb Rogan Josh, Chicken Tikka Massala and Aloo Gobi all cooked from scratch - I was supposed to be a little English Tea Room quietly serving tea and cake with time for gardening in-between and the place has developed a life of its own! All good really, honestly, but exhausting.Ā  :o Very much looking forward to my 5 days in Valencia - 11th November - I'm counting the days.Ā
Hoping to get some gardening done this week, summer plants all cut back now, need to get bulbs in and top off with violas. Just hope those pesky customers leave me alone.Ā  ;)
Haven't got time to mention you all but great to be back in touch, Hugs to all, especially those with dodgy joints ( @Dovefromabove / @Obelixx and lonely hoursĀ  @punkdoc to deal with and an especially big hug to @Hostafan1

Btw, washing maching after 14 day absence has been condemned so had to get a new one anyway - mountain of washing to catch up on - only so many trips to a public launderette could be undertaken and endured!Ā  :/

Good day & good fortune to all.Ā  :)

    Morning all.
Hugs for @Yviestevie and @Dordogne Damsel
My usual 12 hour shift is dwarfed by one of my colleagues who started at 6.30Ā  and doesn't finish until 9.15 tonight.Ā

    Good morning allĀ  :) ā˜•ļøĀ
    slept like a logĀ

Lovely to hear all your news @Dordogne Damsel ... look how far you’ve come ... a butterfly indeed  😃

Looks even wetter down your way than it is here @Hostafan1 ... hope you’ve got your oilskins ā˜”ļø ... but the radio 4 weather person has just said that your weather is going to get better during the day whereas ours is going to get worse 🌧 šŸ™„Ā

OH will be working today ... there’s a bit of i***ing to be done here and the piece of brisket we bought from the wonderfully named butcher Icarus Hines the other day will chunter all day in the Crock Pot, kept company by red wine, herbs and caramelised onions. This evening there'll be creamy mashed potatoes and buttery Savoy cabbage to serve with it.Ā

    Morning all.

Crikey @Dordogne Damsel, what a lot of work. I thought, too, that you had a tea room. I bought violas from Gamm Vert in Thiviers, box of 24 for 9.95€.

Should be warm today, maybe a thunderstorm this afternoon.

There were similar problems with both my parents in a certain hospital some years ago but now my niece works there as a midwife and she says it has pulled its socks up and is very good now.

    Good morning all.Ā
I am annoyed and upset for you @Yviestevie, and @Lizzie27. Not good enough.Ā
You are a machine @Dordogne Damsel! Impressive stuff.
I’m on Sunday Lunch duty today (in laws coming) so better start peeling spuds... catch you later.Ā

    Morning all (just ā˜ŗļø)

Foul weather continues here too - our walk yesterday was very soggy. Ā Dad is doing very well now. Ā I took your advice and contacted PALS about the way he was sent home from hospital ......they are investigating.

    Reflective times @Fairygirl and @Pat E .....they’re always with us, aren’t they.

Very nice @chicky. Never been to Istanbul [ always fancied it ] , although have sailed round part of the coast, and accessed Syria from somewhere on the border.

We’ve never been either @punkdoc .......and since we have a silver celebration coming up we thought we would go celebrate somewhere different šŸ’•šŸ•Œ

    Have a great time @chicky šŸ˜ŽĀ
I think @Yviestevie should contact her mum’s hospital PALS ... in the first instance ... it’s what they’re for ... otherwise complaints can get lost.Ā

I nearly came a cropper this morning ... the soles of my ā€˜back door Crocs’ have worn smooth ... I was taking some stuff out to the bin and there’s a very slight downwards slope where the side path meets the terrace 😱 fortunately I had my left hand on the wall and was able to hold myself up. I’m under orders from OH to use the front door for going to the bins until he’s done something about ā€˜the slippery slope’. šŸ™„Ā
