I was so surprised this afternoon, popped into M & S to stock up on new trousers and I know I'm under 5 ft now, but found their 'Short' fitting is now a good 4-5" too long for me - what am I going to do now? I prefer just the pull-on jersey types (which aren't that easy to take up). They've also stopped putting out their Petite range and Classic range for those of us who are 27 again, they are now only available online. Sorry, having a bit of a rant - should have posted on the Curmudgeons thread!
See - I looked at that differently - WHAT - 30 quid for a lamb joint! I don't eat it - no idea if that's expensive or just overpriced What a pain re the car @Dovefromabove. I don't know why they need all the cr*p on cars nowadays, if they can't get basics right. I've had two Vauxhalls - both had electrical problems. Apparently it's common with them. I'm currently scunnered with the stupid overtaking light on mine not working again, despite being 'fixed' a few months ago. They can take it out. It drives me nuts.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Busy
day today starting with leaving at 9:15 for a 10 am committee meeting at patch
and then the cutting out of cardboard for next week’s full day workshop then
picnic lunch, afternoon of patchwork and finally mosaic class in La Roche
before coming home to cook pasta for the mushroom sauce I made yesterday.
Good
day but knackering. Tired now. OH has golf tomorrow so I can have a lie-in if I need it and then get out
and start planting my bulbs.
@Fairygirl - usual price for leg of lamb here is 19 to 20€ a kilo. Shoulder is usually around 15 or 16€ so when I see it on at 10€95 I buy a couple and freeze them. If I want a Barnsley chop I go to a specialist stall in a market in Les Sables d'Olonne and it's 24€ a kilo. Special occasions only. Never buy beef tho except good mince if I'm batch cooking Bolognese sauce.
@Punkdoc - if we lived in the UK still I'd definitely be tempted by Xmas in the Lakes or any other occasion in the Lakes really. Lovely idea.
@Lizzie - have you looked in the children's clothing sections for your size? I knew a petite lady who did that and saved a fortune on VAT too. Don't know if that still works.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Im sure you all know that saying - be careful what you wish for. We’ve got dark clouds, thunder, rain and hail.😂😂😂. I expect the next thing will be the power going off.

Christmas in the lakes sounds perfect to me 👍🏻
Pitch black here 🌛. My alarm clock tells me its morning, but I beg to differ 🤔. Happy Tuesday folks 😀
