I need some reading glasses for my seeds box!! The broad beans turned out to be dwarf white kidney beans and are not for sowing now. Pity cos the bed is hoed, weeded and raked now and ready to go.

Bother, I have lots over as I bought another packet and the first packet was in the drawer all the time! Could have given you some.
The carpenter turned up this afternoon and he has repaired the spare room ensuite bathroom floor where the loo had leaked and rotted the floorboards under the pvc floor. He removed all the rotten wood and replaced it with marine ply. Charged 80€ which was less than I was expecting. Relief
I've pulled up the bedding and the weeds from the sundial bed and planted blue and pink violas. OH was going to stack more logs but the trailer has a puncture. Bother, wanted to finish logs this weekend.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
We are expecting the hungry hoards to invade tomorrow a much delayed Bank holiday gathering. So just saying a quick hello in between sous chef duties. 13 for dinner tomorrow, we must be mad, do you think I can get away with telling them it's an early Christmas so we can go away?
Afternoon all, Well the saga goes on re mom. On Friday morning when I phoned the hospital they told me mom was going back to the home so I asked them to tell her that I would go and see her this weekend (I had to look after the boys yesterday). I phoned the home this morning to be told she hadn't arrived and that she must still be in the hospital. I was fuming, I hadn't taken her hearing aid, glasses or teeth (which meant she couldn't eat properly) because they had told me she was going home. I phoned the hospital. The nurse on mom's ward said 'oh we just have to sort her medication out and she can go home'. I replied that I had been told that story on Thursday night and had been told on Friday morning that she was going home that morning. I asked them if they thought it was OK to misinform me twice which meant a 97 year old lady was left without any idea of what was happening to her and without any visitors. I then told her that I wanted mom out of that hospital within the hour with all her medication and that I wanted a phone number to complain. She gave me a number which didn't work. I called back she gave me another number which nobody answered. I then called the main hospital switchboard number it rang and rang and finally cut me off. I called again and someone answered I told them I wanted them to put me through to someone straight away where I could register a complaint. They said they would page the duty manager. They did, 3 times, but she didn't respond. I then gave up and said I would call back on Monday when the admin team were back in. I had a call 2 hours later to say that the ambulance had been arranged and when I called the home at 2.00 today was told that mom had just returned. Is it any wonder that patients are left lying in corridors in A & E because no beds are available when mom was told she could go home on Thursday afternoon and was still occupying a bed on Saturday morning. I am so angry I could scream.......
Oh definitely @Allotment Boy Feel free to scream @Yviestevie. I expect I'd hear you here. I can't believe how appalling your mum's treatment has been. How hard can it be for people to communicate - correctly? Yourmum must be so confused, and upset. Perhaps a complaint to the local MP? They'll all be ready for jumping on a bandwagon just now I expect, so worth a shot. Glad your floor is sorted @Busy-Lizzie. Wouldn't be funny if you fell through the floor in those circumstances.... I've had quite a productive day outside, doing some jobs that needed dry weather to make them less of a drag. Slabs laid, tomatoes removed, compost recycled etc etc. Cant be bothered with a dinner. Home made soup will do me.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Had soup at lunchtime @Fairygirl. Home grown tomatoes with orange juice and freshly grated ginger. Very fresh and light. Yum yum.
Never mind @Busy-Lizzie. I'm sure I'll find some somewhere. Good news about your carpenter.
@Yviestevie It's tales like that about the NHS failing the weak and vulnerable that anger and frighten me too. It's supposed to provide care so how they can be so uncaring and so inefficient is beyond me. Not a case of lack of resources here. Just bad management and coordination.

Oh dear sorry to hear all these problems I understand your anger. I once "kidnapped" my mother who was left in a freezing cold dark room for 6 hours waiting for an ambulance to take her home. I just went in & said "I have found a wheelchair I am taking her now" they didn't argue!
My sister is still waiting for the results of the so-called 'emergency' brain scan (possible epilepsy) she had nearly 3 weeks ago. Meanwhile she can't work or drive anywhere and it's making her so depressed, let alone the worry. She keeps phoning the hospital, to be told 'they can't find the results'!
So sorry to hear about your mom's problems @Yviestevie, hope the hospital apologises.
@Allotment Boy believe me if I could have done that I would have but mom can only be moved with a hoist so has to be transfered via an ambulance. @Lizzie27 Sorry to hear about your sister, looks liked she needs to complain too.
