Sounds like a good haul @Busy-Lizzie. Farmers not allowed to water round here altho one here has access to pumped water from a private lake and used that. I shall be trying autumn sowings of broad beans and sweet peas to see if they do better then the one lot of green beans I tred in the ground our first spring here. Far too dry for those.

@Fairygirl OH only started the physio last week. He will be going to group exercises from Wednesday. Early days yet, when the muscles are stronger he will be seeing an orthopaedic surgeon. Thanks for asking.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Can he not do the physio in France @Busy-Lizzie? Everyone I know seem sto have a pet physio. I have been told not to avail myself of the latest prescription for it until I've had the infiltrations. As well as all the walking around yesterday I did one of Bonzo's 10 minute sessions up the lane on smooth roads yesterday. Knee throbbing today. Unimpressed.
I have set aside Tuesday and Wednesday for gardening next week. Hop ethe wetaher stays friendly. it has been today but I've had indoor things to get finished. New carrot cake recipe cooling - very simple with raisins and cinnampn and some orange zest.

Inspired by GW last Friday, I have planted camassias in the orchard, alliums in the flowerbeds, and Mary Berry’s apple cake is in the oven 😋
Also helped Mr C take down a large cotoneaster which had inexplicably half died (that is half the branches had died back). Its opened up the view from the kitchen beautifully - not sure why we never removed it before.
Thanks for the clock change tip @Pat E .......littlest chicklet hadn’t mentioned it 🙄🤔😵
She'll have been out to play or fast in the land of nod @Chicky so maybe not noticed. I was very good yesterday and did not buy camassias as it is too dry here for them and I haven't anywhere I can fix that yet. I did buy lots of little botanical daffs tho and some crocuses and deep Burgundy hyacinths.
They, along with the alliums and tulips I bought the other day, will be planted on Tuesday if all goes to plan.

Which hyacinths are they @Obelixx? I got some in the local Asda last year -reduced to heehaw. 6 whites, and 6 dark pinks. Good sized bulbs too. Hope OH benefits from the physio @Busy-Lizzie I've planted more Camassias @chicky, including the semi plena one. @Yviestevie- have good fun with the clippers. We need photos remember. As long as you haven't been clipping anything into rude shapes....

Been out on a fungal foray this afternoon with the local natural history society. Lots of interesting poisonous stuff but nothing properly edible. Some you can eat a few times without any apparent ill effects before they finally kill you. Our expert guide summed it up nicely, you can eat any mushroom - once. We notched up 37 varieties between us which was about half of previous foray totals.
Hi folks, spent the afternoon with all four grandchildren at Firstborn's house. Just a bit tired this evening and an early start tomorrow so I'm relaxing in front of the TV before getting an early night.
No rude shapes here @Fairygirl . Firstborn's hubby is a bit OCD and all the shrubs in his garden end up square, oblong or round. At the last house he had a load of ivy growing up a redundant line post, he decided to trim it, when I saw it I couldn't stop laughing it was like a giant penis. Needless to say, Firstborn made him cut it down.

Son arrived so I ended the last post.

Mushroom foraging sounds a bit like Russian roulette for the uninitiated 🤮🤮☠️☠️ Think I’ll stick to Sainsbugs 🙀
It’s fascinating that the fungus ‘family’ contains both delicious and deadly varieties (and athletes foot 🤢).
