I wouldn't say wonderful... but a good laugh making them. I think the Wallace and Grommet was a 'two kids' effort. The Spurs cockerel was for my son as was the Magic the Gathering cards being held. The butterflies was notable for the flowers - they were wine gums (or pastilles or some such) with jelly bean petals - but they sunk in the mix so the cake had to be plated upside down. The log (yes that's supposed to be a log with fungus again) - was home made honeycomb that was solid as a rock. Made us all smile - good memories.
The Magic cake was supposed to look something like:
    .....hmmmmmmmm. Compare:

    ....oh dear me....

@punkdoc - COYS indeed - what on earth is happening? I had a horrible feeling that the problem was going to be compounded last night by that Woolwich bunch thrashing the Scousers when we could only run scared of them for 80 minutes.. But G_d smiled.....

Been a funny season so far, and as a confirmed pessimist, I only see things getting worse.
Such a shame, the last few years have been such fun.
Been a fan since the 60's: so many highs, too many lows.

Same here - 1960's on  - my elder bother used to buy me tickets to see them for my birthdays. But the good thing is that you get used to being disappointed eh? And at least as a supporter you don't think that we have some inalienable right to be in the top 4. But, unlike you, I think we'll turn it around and start playing again....the question is when though isn't it?
I think I may go in for some topiary and carve (butcher) one of my acers into a loose copy of the cockerel - or even Danny Blanchflower...

I have no idea what COYS signifies.

Have fun fork hunting @punkdoc and why not some treats too?

Amazing looking cakes @Fairygirl and @steveTu.   Not into the whole decorating/icing thing so the most mine ever get is a chocolate ganache or a Philly cheese based icing.   I can't even get simple icing sugar and wtar or juice icing to the right consistency for dribbling or glazing.  Possum's only contribution growing up was to lick the bowl and spoon but she does now have a go for student events so not when she's at home.

Love a chatty kitty @Lyn.  Hope she comes in and feels safe and warm soon.

@Chicky - beware a good workout on those machines.  I used to find it took 2 days for my muscles to realise what they'd been up to, especially the day my trainer added squats and lunges to my usual routine.   Suddenly found my thighs wobbling too much to go downstairs and had to use the lift at work.

    @steveTu- those are terrific  :D
Wallace and Gromit - brings back such happy memories. Cake making daughter loved them so much when she was little. I became very adept at making them out of play doh  ;)
The mushroom/toadstool is brilliant. Do you watch the extra Bake Off prog on Fridays? Those cake pix that folk send in are just so hilarious, and while the good ones are stunning, it's the bad ones we all love. I always laugh out loud. It's those teeth!  :D
COYS - Come on you Spurs...

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Thanks @Fairygirl.  Not something essential to life then.  Waste of time and money IMO.

While we were at the SM this morning we came across a British couple we know, shopping with visiting elder daughter and family.  Chappy feels surrounded by women so OH has arranged to go and watch the rugby with him on Saturday.  I might make him a cake to take as that means I can have Saturday Kitchen on both TVs while I potter about between living room and kitchen.

Going back to an earlier topic, I always roast pumpkins in slices or chunks before making soup as it helps concentrate the flavour but I do it by day when the leccy is powerd by the PVs.   Same with drying tomatoes to preserve them.

Next time I do one I shall try @Chicky's seed roasting tip with maple syrup and oil.

Oh dear me - you've let the cat out of the bag. You can't just tell all and sundry what the secret code(s) mean - next you'll be saying you know all the Masonic pass phrases.

Us LlW's keep the handshakes and codes close to our chests.. they are not for the profane... You'll now have to self destruct.

The fungus was my dafter's work (I think the boy 'lent a hand') - and the oversized teeth are grand eh? Anything that makes people smile is good eh?
I used to watch Bake Off - but I get a bit bored with those formulaic shows after a while and haven't watched GBBO for years - although I do watch the Great British Menu when the 'professionals' audition to cook at whatever banquet is happening that year.
