That lot sounds horrendous 'Obelixx so good on you keeping busy with all the things that you do. Came to be conclusion I'm a lazy b....r in comparison!
Congrats @AuntyRach, I've just caught up on previous posts.
We've just picked all our apples as we were forecast heavy winds and rain here from Lozenzo. Now, I've got to sort them all out (lots have got codling moth damage despite greasebands) and find somewhere to store them.
Hope the thigh workouts are helpful @Obelixx. How did they fit the neck cage - if you don't mind me asking? It's amazing how quickly you lose muscle tone. I couldn't see any difference in my shoulder, but the physio said I'd lost quite a bit, and it was only five or six weeks after I did it. I've been very lazy today apart from a wee walk this morning. Back in single figs, not that it got very far into doubles. Chilly breeze too. Rain's to come in properly tonight. Think the bedroom window will be closed
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hello. I don't think I've posted today. OH kept wanting the computer and I kept finding other things to do. I've mowed the lawns and scattered grass seed on the bare patches that the moles made. I expect pheasants will eat the seed. I had patched some with the turves I dug up from the new bed.
I've chatted with friends on the phone, including an old school friend who I haven't seen for a bit. She may come to stay in November when I'm next in Norfolk.
I go back to France on Saturday, OH will stay here as he will be having his exercise treatment for his lost muscle tone because of his arthritic hip. He'll drive me to Stansted airport.
Don't know how Obelixx does all she does with those problems.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
The thing is to work thru it when you can and stop and do womething different when you can't or you end up stuck in bed all day and everything atrophies. I'm OK on level surfaces but we don't have any round here except the roads and they're not fun for doggies or me. Haven't done any serious walking since mid January so muscle tone in thighs and hips seriously blobby now and having a knock on effect on the rest. Can't lift a 60kilo bag of compost on my own any more so arms and abs are weakening too.
Took some anti-inflammatories, strapped up my knee and went dancing this evening and did 5 minutes of jive then waited for tango and slow waltz which are my favourites and can be done if I cheat on the steps where I have to bend the left knee low. Good workout and felt great. I shall probably throb a bit tonight but not bothered. No physion till January after the infiltrations are done @Dovefromabove.
@Fairygirl - chappy was very clever with my neck. Since the spine is at the rear I expected a rear opening for easy access but no, he opened a slit in one of those handy creases we have in our front neck and did it through there. No idea if he snuck the cage in one piece or two or three but it works. I can see a scar if I look really hard with a magnifying mirror.
He's a magician with spines and has a whole team of magicians - neurologists, pathologists, anaesthetists and physiotherapy wizards all in one Pain Clinic. He'd organised for their top anaesthetist to do the infiltrations for the 3 slipped disks in my lumbar region a few years before and the year after my neck his colleague, the foot magician, did my feet. Brilliant nurses too.
Bonzo has had his first 10 minute walkies outside the garden for over a month and is a very happy boy.
Have a good trip home @Busy-Lizzie. Just think of all the things you can get up to while OH is away. Good to have him back again tho and hope that's soon.

It looks as if it’s been wet overnight ... but it’s not raining at the moment.
My left knee is much better now @obelixx 😀 the real problem is my right knee ... it’ll never be stable as the anterior crucial ligament is totally snapped. If I turn to my right with my weight wrongly distributed, the knee just gives way with no warning and I find myself flat on the floor. At best I then find myself laid up for a few days with a painful swollen knee ... alternatively I smash my face on a large terra-cotta plant pot as I fall, impale my thigh on a bamboo cane as it snaps when I fall on it, or break my foot as it’s twisted beneath me. 🙄
Also moving sideways (sliding into bus/train seats etc) has to be done very carefully. I do exercises to strengthen the other tendons and ligaments around the knee.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Been a busy week on the work front - looking forward to the weekend. Got a trip to London planned for tomorrow to see Les Mis in concert .......looking forward to it muchly 🎵🎶

Are your knees more stable now @Dovefromabove ?
