I managed to get a bit of C*****m*s cooking done today - one of our apple trees has a crop of particularly good apples on it this year, so I bought some plums and have started off some mincemeat. I'll finish it tomorrow. A bit late this year but I expect it'll be fine. I should probably get myself sorted for the rest of the seasonal baking while I think of it - make sure I have all the dried fruits and stuff ready to go.
Cold here today - chilly east wind - so no gardening for me. Bread for the week is made, SM shop done, so I can crack on with work tomorrow in the rain and maybe get a bit of time outside on Thursday. I took the brassica nets down at the weekend - very late and they are a bit ragged by the wind but we haven't had a single dry day for weeks - even when it's not been raining it's been damp and misty. They're in the shed now, unrolled to hopefully dry off properly. And now I need to get spring greens in the ground, harvest the last of the borlottis and get the climbing bean plants out. The gigantes aren't 'ripe' yet - they may have to come down anyway and hang up in the garage for a while to dry, so a couple of hours of dry weather would be really handy, if anyone has any influence in these things?

@BirminghamMarc1972 we try not to do spoilers for Bake Off and Strictly, even on the devoted thread!!! Bad boy!
@raisingirl - Well done you. OH told me the other day that I didn't need to buy him an Xmas pud this year - chand would be a fine thing - but he would like an Xmas cake which I normally bake anyway. We end up eating a slice in late winter/early spring after a day in the garden. Thanks for reminidng me to check my stocks of mincemeat as I'll not find any of that here either.
