    That's small fry @Hostafan1 . I've just spent 65 quid on Peter Nyssen's site  :D

Does that really count as a sin though?   :D

Evening all.  It's been a day and a half here but first I want to send positive waves to @lilypilly.   There's only one you so take care of yourself first and foremost and then you can work out how to manage everything else when you're stronger.

@Liriodendron - hop ethe decoarting and garden lanning go well.  Lots of photos and measuring to do inside and outside!

@Busy-Lizzie I like tales of visits and trips and critters too.

I am not really a morning person, especially when woken at 3am by OH nicking the bedcovers and then Cosmos wanting snuggles and cuddles.  It is cool here - low 20s - and we've had damp bits.

Today Possum gave blood.  OH and I can't cos we were in the UK in the crucial "mad cow" period and, in case, I had malaria several times as a tot and can't give blood even tho I'm O- and potentially very useful.   Anyway, back in teh day when OH gave blood they sat you down, emptied your arm, gave you a cuppa and a biccie and thank you and goodbye.

Here it's a case of eating well first (bacon, egg, beans, sautéed potato) then drive to Les Sables d'Olonne.   Join huge queue (holiday makers and local of all ages), fill in comprehensive forms about health and innoculations, get vetted, join queue for further confidential and personal questions, get passed, drink 2 glasses of water, join another queue for the blood letting.  Finger prick test for anaemia then blood taken, at last.   2 hours later, arm empty but not allowed to leave till food has been eaten and liquids drunk - ham and butter baguette, brioche and jam or honey, biscuits, madeleines, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juice, water.........

Quick raid on Leclerc which has a different layout and product lines from our usual in Luçon but we like it.   Thence to patchwork club treasurer's home to sign a document about our meeting room and check insurance and play with their 4 month old retriever.  Lastly, a raid on the fabric shop which is moving soon and has all fabric at 50%.  Can Possum find anything she likes to make the next frock?   'Course not, so we bought some fancy jersey for a smart, fitted  sweatshirt/jacket.

Just having a cuppa then I'm off to cook fresh hake steaks with garden tomatoes, courgette and garlic and maybe even our own spuds too.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Evening everyone- you’ve been very chatty today! Like reading a little newspaper just now.
I had to do a fast for blood tests this morning so I was extremely grumpy with no cuppa this morning. I could drink water and found that boiled water was slightly preferable to cold for a morning drink. I also have a sore wisdom tooth, so I could extend the grumpiness all day. Had to have baked potato and mashed avocado for lunch so just thinking what to have tonight...I will force something down!
Hope all are doing ok. Keep your chin up Lily - I’m sure your garden will forgive you and will enjoy having you back next year.

My bill from them was £64.80 @Fairygirl.
    Money well spent.

Definitely not, consumerism is what keeps the world going, if people didn’t spend, what would happen then?
You've  bought my share as well, I’m a right skin flint, hardly buy anything other than compost.

I don't buy an awful lot Lyn, but I'm rejigging a couple of areas, and adding some verticals. I like the handful of Camassias I got last year, so I'm adding more for the other end of the border they're in. The downside is that the narcissus are for the raised boxes the apple trees are in, but one of them is looking rough, very little fruit and a bit knackered now - splitting etc - and the apples get such bad scab, so I now need to replace them. Been considering it anyway, so that's made my mind up. Not quite decided what I'm replacing them with yet.
Hope your grumpiness eases @AuntyRach. No cuppa first thing - that's against the law surely?  :#   Got any soup for this evening?  :) Soup making weather here...
I'm thinking of coming your way to give blood @Obelixx. Just for the food rewards  :D
Forgot to say @Liriodendron - great progress with the house. Hard work, but worth it. Hope all goes well with it. Looking forward to the photos too  :)

The power of anti inflammatory tablets has allowed me sweet potato and chicken! I agree that no morning cuppa is unlawful - I felt very hard done by.  I will be having a whole pot tomorrow morning.
