And August is here ... time to spend on the beach 🏖 ... or filling the freezer with runner beans and eating more tomatoes and courgettes than anyone ever thought possible .... and of course, finding time to natter and noodle with friends on here ....

    💡 Possibly you could continue to hibernate for the rest of the year @Lily Pilly  and wake up in January ... that way you’ll have missed a year and only be 26 😆

    Brighter here this morning, after the thunder and lightning yesterday, and rain all evening. We've had plenty of wet now, so if anyone wants some....feel free to help yourself.

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    work to do this morning - hope to get out this afternoon for a while.

    Glad to hear Mr Pat had a good night's sleep. Let's hope it's the first of many now.

    LilyP - for reasons far less exigent than yours, I missed a year and a bit of gardening. I've learned to adapt my expectations of what I can do and the garden has morphed to match what I have the time/energy to manage. It's not going to win prizes but the insects and birds love it and I've come to see real beauty in a little chaos.

    Morning everyone to come. I'm hoping we all get a little more moderation in the weather this month.

    PS OpenReach are coming back today for the 5th time in 2 weeks. I'm not holding my breath......

    R'girl - do they have to compensate you if they can't sort it out, or is that only when you have no service for a set time? 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    We do have a service - just intermittent and very slow. I think they only pay out if you're completely offline. Although we didn't get anything when we were off for 2 weeks when the farmer pulled down a mile of cable (and 2 poles) with his hay wagon a while back. We are supposed to get money for every time an engineer comes out and doesn't fix it. I'm guessing that because they keep not finding a fault, they'll wriggle on that one, as well.
