Good morning all from us tucked cozily under the Lincolnshire eaves 😊 ☕️
OH is already out there finishing the second coat as he got rained off yesterday afternoon 🌧
We may have to stay a bit longer than planned as we’ve uncovered a plumbing problem with the en suite 💧... suffice to say that OH was showering and I was downstairs knitting 🛋 and I got wet too!!! ☔️
OH investigated and we think we’ve uncovered the problem ... MIL will ring her plumber ASAP this morning and if he can pop by today we’ll stay in until he’s visited so OH can explain what we think happened and the temporary remedy he carried out. (Flipping space saving macerator pump thing 🙄)
Meanwhile we’ll use another bathroom to be on the safe side 💦

Morning all. Thanks for the wiki link @chicky. We've got rain , but due to clear later. I was hoping to start grass cutting , but it may be too wet later. grr
Did anyone watch The Great Gardening Challenge on 5 last night? Why do they give them such a stupidly short time to create the "gardens"? If we were paying £10,000 to have our gardens created from scratch, we'd expect them to spend a damn sight longer than 48 hours on the project.
Morning all/afties Pat if you're around and about It's always good to save water by showering together @Dovefromabove, but I think you're both meant to be in the shower at the same time..... Dry here for now so I might get something done outside after the washout yesterday, although we still have thunderstorm warnings. It was still chucking it down when I went to bed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow, as the forecast might even allow a hill as the tunder/lightning warnings on them have abated for now. After the recent death, I'm not venturing out when that's forecast. Literally - nowhere to go when that stuff comes in. I've given up watching those types of programmes Hosta. If they gave them an appropriate amount of time, it wouldn't make for 'interesting' watching, and you wouldn't get the inevitable grief/aggro/stress/tension that inevitably results. Cheap telly, cheap thrills. I don't know who's involved in judging [I assume they have that?] but I often wonder why some well known faces involve themselves in them too.

i did note with horror when one of the judges said " All the criterias have to be met"
@Fairygirl plumber arrived at 9 ... agreed with our diagnosis 👍 but also pointed out that the electrical connector box thingummy powering the macerator was full of water 💥😱🥵
He’s sorted that, tightened the pipe connections that were all loose and not fixed right ... cursed at the firm who did such a bad job of fitting the en suite a few years back ... tested everything and refused to charge anything !!! MIL gave him some spending money for his son who is starting at the Royal Ballet School next term. 👍
Fingers crossed very tightly that’s the last of my sofa showers! 💦

That plumber sounds like a gem @Dovefromabove. We aren't showering together yet but I do have a bowl in there to catch spray for plant watering. Working well so far.
Thanks for that link @Chicky. Interesting link and, in the end, a good outcome.
Dry today but still quite cloudy. I might just go and weed the bed along the ruin now it's been dampened a bit. What is it about me and thalictrum? I bought 3 described as growing to 1m tall for the Belgian garden and they all got to 3m. Bought a slightly different one for here with fetching purple stems and it too has decided 3m are better than 1.

What a lovely chap @Dovefromabove. Not many like that about, although, if he goes around not charging, he might not stay in business! I once got a chap [through my hairdresser] to come and fix a 'stuck' plug in the upstairs bathroom. I knew he was good when he immediately took his shoes off when he came in! He was embarrassed when I asked him how much, and grudgingly said a tenner. Nice when you feel there are still genuine, decent tradespeople around. I've got a white thalictrum Obelixx, and the b***er really doesn't grow at all. I gave it a bit of time because I had to move it from the original spot, but it's on a last warning. It's about a foot tall I spoke too soon about it being dry. Just a heavy shower though, so I'll get back out after a cuppa. Been generally faffing, and watching the butterflies. Peacocks have arrived now. Not a bad way to spend some time though eh?
