It is - except people don't like too much politics here.Ā  Ā Prefer to escape all the hoo-hah.Ā  Quite a few no longer visit because of previous political diversions.

There are plenty of topics on this thread which are of no interest to me , I just skim over them

What I think is ... the occasional expostulation on here about an item of news is fine ... it’s the sort of thing one would say if meeting up with friends and acquaintances for a morning coffee, a cuppa or an evening drink.Ā

If those occasional expostulations became so frequent that folk started using another cafe or pub in order to avoid a discussion they felt uncomfortable with, then that would be a shame.

Friendships require moderation and tolerance on all sides 😊

I couldn't agree more, so maybe less chat about pets and endless lists of house guests and I'll not post about Boris's Magic Money Tree?

I was of the opinion, that anything goes on here, as long as it does not include anything illegal.
Otherwise it could end up being very bland.
If I have something on my mind, I will post it here.
People leave for many reasons and some [ note some ] of the alternative general threads are either utterly banal, or totally hateful.

Yeah ... anything goes, news whether personal or public ... hence my saying tolerance and moderation on all sides ... it’s a shame if it becomes too intense ... but I don’t think that’s happened.  😊

When I first started Hello Forkers there was room for a subheading and I used to put something along the lines of ā€œeveryone welcome to chat about almost anythingā€ so I don’t think anyone can expect this to be a politics-free Ā zone ... if we’re not interested in what someone’s discussing then surely we skim over it ... and either post about something we are interested in or wait and join in when someone else changes the subject.Ā

Its to be expected that we won’t all share the same views on ... but as I said, tolerance and moderation are the way to get on ... if we can’t manage that on here there’s not much hope for the rest of the world 😢

Politics are an unfortunate fact of life so I think we should be able to have an opinion but I do know of people who left this thread and even these boards because of all the b****t stuff.Ā  Ā I agree other threads can be banal or horrid and I do enjoy the banter on this one, the wide range of interests both gardening and otherwise and the fact that we're allowed an opinion and allowed to differ.
