I find it mildly interesting that 2 of the most recent trouble makers appeared to leave shortly after their exploits. I suppose some people really do come on just to cause a spot of bother, or realise that they are just not in tune with the masses on this site.

Fairy  The curry was delicious......always is. It is one of the things I can still eat and enjoy.  I never feel hungry now but eat because I know I have to.  OH  does all the cooking and housework as he is retired and I am still working. I work in a factory in Dewsbury, (about 7 miles away from where I live), and have been there for 21 years. I work shifts  .....weeks about 6am to 2pm one week, 2pm to 10pm the next.

That's hard working those different times @Pauline 7 :/  I sometimes used to work from early afternoon into late evening, and I always found that more difficult compared to my usual - starting at about 7.30 until about 5.30.
@punkdoc - there's also the ones who clearly read most, or all, of the threads but only jump in and stir when there's a whiff of a niggle. I dislike those people even more than the ones you're referring to. One had the cheek to complain about new posters being chased away when she had done exactly that to a regular, helpful member of the forum.  :(

My favourite shift is the earlies. I worked nights for about 10 years and really enjoyed that but was advised by my GP to stop nights. I tried working days....7.30 to 4.30 but found that in winter I wasn't seeing any daylight from Sunday evening until Friday afternoon , when we finished at 1pm. The late shift is a pain.

I've heard lots of people say that late/night shifts are ok if you only do that - it's the changing from one to another that's the problem.
I'd much rather start early and finish early if I had a choice, but since I  retired, 6 months ago,  I can do what I like anyway!
You'll be glad when you're able to stop I expect though  :)

When I was nursing the early shifts were my least favourite. I liked the 2pm to 10pm shifts, could sleep in. I hate getting up early. Morning coffee is very important.

I've been clearing the area around the pond, you can now see the pond. Was very neglected.

I would love to retire but now they have raised the retirement age I have got to wait until 2025 to get my pension.  I accept that the retirement age should be the same for men and women,  but if they lowered the mens age and raised the womens they could have met in the middle at 63.

Hear, hear @Pauline 7 . I'm fortunate that it doesn't affect me but it does my sister, who's younger than me and is poorly with a recently diagnosed heart condition. She's allegedly classed as 'self-employed' so gets nothing and cannot work.

My sister just sneaked in before they raised the age, but I was in a position to retire a few years early, so I've done it. Still getting used to it though  :)
I expect the cost of it all makes it harder and harder. In my parents' lifetime, and certainly in their parents' lifetime, people didn't live that long after their retiral age, whereas now, people living well into their eighties and beyond, isn't uncommon.
