It's just the mess he creates @Fairygirl I can cook a meal and create less devastation than when he makes a sandwich.Ā  He also has the TV really loud (he refuses to believe he is going a bit deaf) it drives me balmy, I prefer peace and quiet and a good book.

I know exactly what you mean @Yviestevie. It seems to be a common problem with some menĀ  :D
I was quite lucky that ex hubby was tidy, and didn't make preparing a bowl of cornflakes look like Armageddon had happened. No towels left on floors after showers etc either.Ā Ā

I think it's a ploy with some of 'em so that they dont get asked to do chores .... ;)
I'm envisaging you being a bit like Jerry LeadbetterĀ  [The Good Life] when Margo goes out and forbids him to have a curry, and he takes it into the lounge and wafts it aroundĀ  :D

Ploy doesn't work here @Fairygirl I just tell him he gets it wrong because he needs the practice.Ā

My OH has the TV really loud too and I get more done and eat when I like but I do miss him when he's not here. I lived on my own for 10 years after 1st OH died and it's so much more fun with 2nd OH than on my own,Ā even when he's maddening.

Going back to the woodpecker theme, we heard a big bang yesterday on the patio doors and found a youngish green woodpecker outside on the paving, thoroughly stunned, poor thing.Ā  I was fascinated (although also a bit repelled) by the length of its tongue which was hanging out ( I had thought it was its guts!).Ā  Fortunately after a few minutes,Ā he recovered and flew off when I moved. We thoughtĀ it had probably been chased by a sparrowhawk or buzzard.

I like the peace and quiet as well when OH is away but it's nice when he comes back!
