Morning all.Ā Ā Ā Ā Hi @Pat E - glad it's a bit warmer today, and Mr Pat can enjoy his Italian food...
We'll be taking a van to Ireland on Sunday night, with camp beds, stepladders, wallpaper, steam cleaner etc in it so we can "camp" in our new house, and do a bit of work in it before moving in.Ā Hubby can't stay long, because the van needs returning to the hire place, but I'll be there for 10 days.Ā I like decorating, fortunately...Ā I'll have to remember how we kept food cool without a fridge, when I was a child.Ā A bowl containing a little water, milk etc in the bowl, all covered with a damp cloth.Ā Celery, cucumber, broccoli arranged like flowers in a big jug of water... and buying no more meat than you can eat that day...
We have a feisty male woodpecker (greater spotted).Ā His mate and his babies fly away when the jackdaws arrive on the feeder, but Mr W gives as good as he gets, in spite of being only half their size.Ā The jackdaws threaten to peck him, but his beak is long and sharp and he's not afraid to threaten back!
And this morning I heard a green woodpecker close by.Ā Never seen one around here, but it was lovely to hear Professor Yaffle laughing away...Ā (anyone else remember Bagpuss?Ā Ā Ā )
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Morning all/afties Pat. Lovely that hubby is starting to enjoy his food again. Do you do warming, casserole type meals that we're fond of over here in cold weather?Ā Easy, and tasty. I miss doing goulash as youngest now can't eat beef. First world problems eh?
Coffee never stopped me sleeping when I drank it more often. Youngest is the same. I think we're wired differently or something. Wonder if @Pauline 7Ā is having a nap.... Thermal undies @chicky Cool here again, more rain for later. Yesterday was quite frustrating - stop and start with heavy rain. Lovely when the sun was out, with a nice sharp breeze to stop me getting too hot shifting plants for some border re arranging.Ā
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
have tried to read back as much as I can. You are all so busy and gardening enthusiasts making the most. Ā I have done nothing, breaks my heart. All that fruit just hanging. OH too busy with the HW laundry ironing etc. Ā Even the dogs wondering why all is different. And so the s... keeps falling on me. hospital called gp yesterday and said my heart must have ecg regularly as long q t is significant. Ā Nice to know you can pop off any moment and I have to inform the family to allow them to be tested. Ā As if my daughter hasnāt enough to cope with! Then, just to make my day another call to say haematology had thoroughly investigated my allergies. Ā I was to take this very seriously and talk to my local pharmacist- 98 confirmed, many more to be aware of! Geeeeeeez. Ā Ā No wonder my doc told me it all very quickly and then shot off the line. Ā I must be the preverbal nightmare patient.
truly confused and a bit fed up toĀ enjoy yiur day it looks another I would be in the garden!

Rain today will stop garden play but plenty more to do inside anyway.
