Hello all missed you so much kept checking thought I had something wrong my end then saw the notice on the page glad we are back on here again
Got really wet today down pour and thunder made rather puddly patches, I guess that was yesterdays rain as well as todays - so no watering today
planted out a few more things now - sowed some peas and when one chicken escapes the net area she seem to go to that bed dig scratch and try and eat my pea seeds chickens like to dig in veg beds when get there may well have to net around the lot some net on some beds at minute
got to harvest a few blackcurrants first time off that plant really strong and nice

Before the break I was discussing a supposed current, which we think is a raspberry.  Decided to dig up the cuttings from last year, they had
rooted well, and gave them to a friend. Will let the fruit ripen on the pictured plant, and I then have a home for it too. Now will have to wait and see which of the currents I did plant!

ewww, had to do housework today, so much lovely rain but can't get out on the ground until it dries out a bit.

Been contemplating going completely no dig. The more I find out about it the more it appeals. Days like today there would be no walking on bare clay to get to veg with all the problems it causes, would have wood chip paths instead.

So decided next thing is to try some trial no dig beds on the front lawn (which we never use for anything), will post up any progress on the project.

Hello all - ? what is the best plant you have grown to give you the most crop e.g fruit/veg?

Went to the plot all that rain has made the soil less dusty more dig-able - so dug a big area, levelled off then later moved the old walk in greenhouse frame to the area put up metal square fencing from a pre garden fence, now both sides of frame for a walk in sweetpea area to grow and climb up

@GemmaJF you could use wood chip paths now or steping stones, front garden idea sounds good
@Purplerallim nice the plants will get a new home
@GWRS should be a nice day tomorrow this way we had pink lines bits in the sky normally means a good day the next

Roma tomatoes and little jem lettuce.  Had loads last year, and the lettuce is as prolific this year too.

Going to have to vote the salad bowl lettuce this year as the winner, it just keeps producing tons of new leaves, like every day! Had no idea it would be so prolific.

Jobs to do are slowing on the plot now, with nearly every space filled, mostly harvesting from now on.

Have started off some Cauliflower seeds and Purple Sprouting Broccoli to put in over winter. When the first earlies are up, got some turnip seeds to put in still and and leeks waiting patiently in a nursery bed, so just a case now filling spaces as they become available with winter veg and thinking about the practicalities of converting over to no-dig.
