I thinned a bucket full of fruit off of two apple and one pear tree yesterday left about 15 pears all in their protective pockets, the apples look pretty flawless on the outside I don't know if that's down to the regular garlic/chilli sprays that they have been having, will attempt to protect as many apples as I can with protective pockets it will be interesting to see what the outcome of all this faffing about is.

Another visit that was predominantly watering,  when will we get some decent rain?
Currently harvesting lettuce, rocket, radishes,  Broad beans, cabbage. Peas are nearly there, as are courgettes.  Fruit, strawberries  raspberries,  loganberry, cherries also nearly there.
I have also been thinning, apples, 3 out of 4 trees have a heavy crop.

    AB Still learning

Planted out courgettes, pumpkin and cucumber a couple of weeks ago and they haven't got going yet, had to replace a Money maker tomato plant as it didn't have a growing tip and wasn't producing side shoots, mainly watering especially peas one early batch (early onward) nearly finished and (Petit Provencal) starting to bush out. Good news I think, all the vacant plots around me have been let one was really overgrown it hadn't been dug for 5 years but it is now strimmed and the young woman turned up pushing an industrial size rotovator this morning, I thought to myself these folk mean business!

Hello , don’t remember doing so much watering at allotment
As ever some items are doing well , Raspberries have picked loads , in-fact there is so much growth I’m not able to walk down the middle of the 2 rows

Squash and pumpkins not doing go well !

Winter planted onions and garlic looking good , have pulled these and left to dry , will collect them tomorrow morning

Looks like the first of my tomatoes Sunchocola are turning, it's about two weeks early. The strawberries are about finished,  and the summer raspberries are in full swing ( considering I have only one plant 1/2 lb every other day is good)
It's the cucumbers that are running away. There are two of each variety Passandra and Beth Alpha, but the difference in growth is considerable,  I'm sure the left two are bidding for freedom.😆

Mine have another few days left I should think although they have been good this year not wet enough for mould or slugs.

One of my neighbouring plots which has been overgrown for many years has been taken on by some nice people who have gone at it with a vengeance and cleared and rotovated it but have now gone doolally with pallets, it looks like they are constructing a kids adventure fort or something, I don't know which is worse an overgrown plot or palletgeddon! They do look like very lightweight pallets though and I don't think that they will last very long.
