  • Full day at the plots yesterday got a lot of clearing done . All 4 compost bins full now.  Still lots to do, we need  a week of dry weather so I can start digging.

Hello , spent Monday & Tuesday mornings at plot
Planted broad beans & spring onions under clouches

O/H cleaned up rhubarb bed  and weeded a large bed which we covered in membrane until needed
Still harvesting carrots 🥕 leeks , broccoli 🥦 and parsnips , however , the later are getting rather bid and the cores are a bit hard so o/h is marking vegetable soup

As ever a few little jobs done
Need to finish pruning fruit trees and soft fruit bushes

Hello , a couple of productive mornings at plot
Cleared cabbage beds and covered with horse manure for winter
Cut down Dalias but need to buy cover with compost/mulch
Moved 2 climbing Roses 🌹 that I had grown from Hard cutting a couple of years ago
Obviously a few other jobs done
  • Finally dry enough to do some digging,  still a bit sticky in places but I have to do it sometime.

One of my Lottie neighbours is lovely but is a bit disorganised so i have been tidying up her plot and strimming ground Ivy etc.

I heard her say to someone "Cor its starting to  look like a real  allotment !!" so now both of us are Happy !!   B)
Everyone is just trying to be Happy.....So lets help Them.

Another a few hours at plot this morning
More pruning done , now a big pile for burning 🔥
Dug up some carrots 🥕 & leeks for dinner tonight, also cut some Chrysanthemums for flowers 💐 for home
  • Took a sackful of shredded prunings to the compost bin and managed a bit more digging.  We are allowed fires now but they are generally discouraged as we are in an urban area. All my flowers are over even the chrysanthemums.

Hello , picture of new shed put up yesterday
  • Looks like a good one. Apart from the official  council ones  most of the ones on our site are cobbled together with all sorts of old bits and pieces.
