I've been planting out seed potatoes I've got 7 rows done so far with 3 more to do it's a case of waiting for the dry days but the rain in between has made it very hard work on my clay soil. I planted out a row of peas which were started off at home in lengths of rainwater guttering and 2 rows of broad beans started off at home in cardboard tubes both peas and beans are looking good. I will have to get direct sowing of carrots and beetroot before long the area is covered with plastic sheet at the moment.
Hi @Sheps yes there are two a cell, three if I oops, but only one per cucumber. These will stay until big enough to transplant into individual pots. I like to do this at least twice before they go out in the greenhouse in their final tubs. This means that even if they get a bit leggy , I can plant them deeper encouraging better root production ( usually up to the first leaf) As I have a greenhouse they can go out a month earlier than outdoor plants, so any spare plants go outside end of May, in greenhouse its end of April. They might be smaller this year as I am about three weeks late setting seed this year.
Just thought I'd show you these after transplanting them yesterday @Sheps They do grow fast, they have pushed out of the soil in one day. They were in up to their leaves.
Hello all , 3 days at allotment , paths renewed with bark chippings , beds weeded and cleared and lots of little jobs done A bit of gardening tomorrow Going away Easter Saturday for a week , then we’ll start some more planting Had to take cover off Broad Beans 🫘 getting to big Another slight frost last night
Finished planting the seed potatoes I notice that Nick Frost said that he plants early potatoes first followed by second early and then maincrop, I can't see the point of that I put mine in as early as I can after all the sooner you put them in the earlier you can harvest them. Tomorrow I aim to plant out shallots which were started off in the greenhouse and sow a row of carrots. Rain forecast for Thursday so I've made the most of the dryish weather even though the soil is wet.

When I sow some more veg I'll try using pots similar to these 👍
