Flippin' eck @KeenOnGreen. Has it affected all the other plots or are you the unlucky one right next to the brook?
Is it any consolation that it hasn't happened in a few months time when you'd have lost a lot more planting? Apologies - I'm trying to look for a silver lining as I feel for you!
In London @Wilderbeast We had no warning of very heavy rain, nothing that suggested this would happen. We actually raised our shed last Summer, as the plot floods a little in heavy rain, but nothing like this. Lots of the the other plots were affected badly, although ours was the worst @Biglad
We have to keep it in perspective; it's not our house, and you see so many tragic cases where people's houses are flooded repeatedly. We'll get over it once it drains, although we expect a few losses (especially our Asparagus bed, and Winter Onions/Garlic).
Some of the plots on my site tend to flood a bit but not that bad. As has been said at least there is time for it to dry out before you need to sow or plant.
Went out this morning to find our annual lake has appeared in the garden, it's no where near my veg patch but will end up up about 50ft round and stay put till spring. I have a submersible pump that keeps it something like, so that's today's job.
@GWRS it's quite miraculous they have healed brilliantly, the Doc said I have excellent healing ability (to be fair I'm very practiced at healing). Still sore but they are going to be almost normal. I'm back pottering, I managed to start some repairs on the mower (yes the engine was turned off) and all being well I'll be raring to go for spring
That's really good news @Wilderbeast 😁 Now Mrs Wildebeast just has to curb your enthusiasm a bit longer to finish the healing, I know an impossible job.😆
@purplerallim home schooling 2 boys while Mrs Wilderbeast works in a special needs school full-time is a very effective blocker of garden jobs. I get to tinker outside before school, (9am) for half hour at dinner and then an hour after school finishes (I try to follow the school hours). It's very frustrating but it's definitely helped my recovery if had been summer it would have been a nightmare

I was going to allotment tomorrow but the sleet this morning has turned into snow ❄️ and it’s due to freeze overnight
@Wilderbeast , how hand doing ?
