Hello , have managed to get to allotment three times this months , been cutting down dead stuff eg dahlias  , Jureslum artichokes , gladioli ,asparagus  and burning it

Have been mulching it as well , I use plastic tubs with metal grating on floor to stop rats getting in , not seen as many , I think the street cats 🐈 that live on the site seem to be keeping them down

    No sprouts again this year
Allotment Boy , the same as you leeks small but ok and lots of slugs 🐌 on cabbages but very pleased with them
    Garlic is growing nicely
Still got some broccoli , kale & chard still ok
No more work at allotment until start of January now

Hello , just been to allotment this morning , just finished when the rain came and it was heavy
Picked 2 cabbages , leeks and a few carrots 🥕 that where still growing most very small

Another fence post broken , an arch that a Honeysuckle is growing up snapped , just did a temporary repair on both

Pleased to say Broad Beans started to grow under clouches

Sent to plots today,  everything is saturated.  No serious wind damage but a few things blown around.  I  have "lost" the downpipes on the greenhouse,  they might turn up sometime.
Tried to have a bonfire,  despite everything being covered with plastic sheets,  I used a lot of my cardboard to get it lit but most too wet to burn properly.  Hope that drier weather will allow me to have another go next week.

Going to allotment tomorrow , so interesting to see what’s it’s like after all the rain

Lots of local flooding in centre of village and lots of standing water on fields

Had to dig another small trench taking sewage/water across garden to Beck
Put stepping stones across front lawn and dug a soak away in front lawn

Went to allotment yesterday and today , we where asked not drive on site but to park in car park
Although centre got flooded and plots at the bottom very wet , those by the road including my where ok
Lots of fence posts broken and sitting area effected by the gales will need fixing ,plus an arch over bottom gate broken  , it was ok
Did some pruning, now got a pile for burning

Also got some posts ready in buckets of post concrete to replace the broken ones

I have been visiting the plot once a week to do work repairing my aged shed, I have built a strong internal frame and am now sourcing and stripping down wooden pallets to form the walls, the roof and floor are in pretty good condition as I constructed those from pallet wood over ten years ago, stripping down pallets is the hardest job especially the heavy ones, it is much easier to strip them at home than it is on the plot but as I sourced some of them from another plot holder they have to be part stripped before they are light enough to lift on to the car roof rack to bring them home. I am pretty confident that after this hard work I will have a sturdy shed where I can store my tools, it will have been a lot of work but in my opinion is preferable to spending money on a new shed and after all I am retired from work and what else is there to do that gives me a free outdoor workout better than any gym.

Great project @barry island, I  want to  re-roof the shed I had moved, but it's been far too wet  recently,. I  researched shed prices in the Autumn,  I'm still reeling from the shock.
