Checked chilli and peppers today and over twenty seedlings. There were none at the weekend; I'm stummed. Could be awhile before second set of leaves though

Went to allotment this morning and finished repairs to original shed

A bit concerned that we could get frost from Friday again

Yes was glad I resisted putting things from the greenhouse outside for good,  and just left the door open instead @GWRS It looks to be a chilly easter 🐣🥶

Another morning at allotment , got a bed ready for first early potatoes 🥔
Dug up a load of Jureslum artichokes as they have spread a bit to much
O/H had a burn up of bits of wood and got 3 barrow loads of bark chippings

Greenhouse went down to 1.7 last night
Bought some plants from G/C yesterday but have put those in conservatory as temperatures about to drop for the next few days

More digging today and I rotavated straight away as this wind is drying out the lumps if you leave it more than a day.  Bit cream crackered now,  still more to do.  Plots were very busy yesterday,  not too bad today I the the cold wind is putting people off.

Planted out a tray each of beetroot and spring onions and covered over with fleece or poly carbonate. Pulled up the last of the kale as it was flowering. Sowed a tray each of mangetout and podding peas. Pricked out chard, I'm planning on growing this in the borders like cottage gardening. Also pricked out wild rocket and spinach. Am beginning to realise I need another acre to fulfill my veg growing desires 🤣🤣

If potatoes are well buried,  they should be fine its only if the tops are showing that frost is a problem. Frost shouldn't penetrate the soil at this time of year in the UK.
