Haven’t posted in a while as I’ve just been doing the same thing every visit! Shovelling soil and moving it from one place to another, stopping after every spade to pick up a plastic bag, or broken plant pot or shard of glass.

Have been trying to level the area at the back of the plot - well not really level it, but make it more of a gentle slope from the higher side to the lower - getting rid of the large mound of earth right at the back.

But that’s completed to my satisfaction now, or I’ve had enough of it and don’t want to do it anymore!

Planted some spring bulbs there this morning and started marking out where the wildlife pond is going to be and getting the sides level.

    Picked some apples.

Another three hours at the plot today tidying up putting the sweetcorn stalks and runner bean stems into the compost bin, I don't add kitchen waste during the winter anymore because the rat family see it as a running buffet the more that I add the quicker they eat it, I leave the lid off now but they still chow down. All the weeds go into my dalek system to rot down for four years, the rats don't bother those bins but there are quite often mouse nests and even the odd toad in residence. Tried to dig down the side of the neighbouring path as I could stand on the path while digging but its wet and sticky still and we need a couple of weeks dry weather to make the digging easier.

Put 3 more beds to sleep for the winter , one more to go tomorrow
O/H put marigolds & Cucamelons into the emptied compost bin , used compost as a mulch on raspberry beds . Tomorrow she will take off the unripen figs off which there are an awful lot
    Back on track
Rats 🐀,  notice a hole  buy storage shed , spoke to our allotment rat expert who agreed , he put rat poison down , we get commercial stuff that farmers us , noticed to day it had gone

Hi, haven't posted for a while. I think I stopped getting notifications and time has just flown by. I've had a really good growing season though. Found an excellent recipe for a green tomato sauce.

    Hoe you guys are well.

GWRS-I also grew cucamelons, they were plorific, only four plants but was eating them like sweets, the roots do over winter if kept in a frost free place :)

I'm beginning to wind the plot down for winter. Haven't yet planted garlic, onions or shallots though.

Hello Zoomer  , sometimes I don’t get notifications as well
Cucumeloens , I thought about over wintering them but so inter grown  with weeds , marigolds in front of them and fence decided to get them out , surprised at the numbers of the fruit
Need to think about something different , not grown before for next year

Cut down a bed of dahlia , all spent and mulched them . Have some late flowering’s one but will leave those until frost blackens them
