I'm picking the best crop of strawberries at the moment, some summer Raspberries,  but that is a plant only a year old. The carrots have made size well and the spring onions are going strong. Today the first of the tomatoes of different varieties showed they were turning, so maybe by weekend I'll be able to pick.
This golden sunrise fell off as I was watering today

Watered everything this evening. I removed a load of tomato leaves today but I have lots more to do. Sowed more kale in plugs this time as I think the slugs got the 1st batch sown in drills.

Had a few hours yesterday at allotment  , pruned several bushes & small trees , burning pile is huge. Some more raspberries  , first lot of gooseberries . Dug up some shallots,  now drying  , also cleared last year's chard , going tomorrow morning to water
Did some gardening this morning & evening,
Rather warm , still sitting outside with coffee

First year of growing veg in the garden and we're having a medley of french beans, runner beans, peas and carrots for dinner.  I get so excited when we eat something I've grown.  The beetroot is doing well and so are the leeks.  The only thing I have failed on is getting spring onions to germinate.  Nevermind, can't win 'em all.  Grandsons (2 and 4) came yesterday and they were so amazed when they pulled real carrots out of the ground.

I find all onions don't work for me @Yviestevie , so I buy the variety I like a red spring onion called Apache in March/April as plants, and plant in tubs in the greenhouse and put outside in May. They have never let me down 😁

It was apache that I sowed @purplerallim I sowed two lots, one in the raised bed and one in modules but they didn't germinate.

You were lucky to find the seeds @Yviestevie I haven't,  so sowed another variety,  they didn't take , so bought little plants instead

Quick dash to plots this morning,  everything OK, some strawberries and raspberries had gone too far and we're over ripe but there were plenty to pick.  Picked courgettes,  cabbage lettuce and rocket.  The greenhouse was OK the self watering pots are working well.  Amazing how much weed has grown in 5 days away.  Will have to tackle it later in the week.

Hello , couple of hours this morning at plot
O/H picked some red currants , Gooseberrys, jostaburys & raspberries , going to make some mixed fruit jam
Not that many berries as normal but a lot of growth

Only watered tomatoes as thunderstorms forecast from 4-00

I pruned 2 plum trees , again a lot of growth , no fruit and looks like no fruit on my 2 pear 🍐 trees , I think they where effected by lots of late frost
