Have to say it’s so nice to see the seeds coming up 🌱 , was worried might not have enough plants for allotment but now think it will be ok 👍

Don't usually worry if seedlings are looking ok or not, but this year with not being able to get more plants if they fail makes it more important.  Will just have to do without now as some things I didn't get in time, and others I only have limited seed of.

I enjoy watching seeds up Today sweetcorn one up same as yours GemmaJF bodacious RM F1 sown on 9th April
@purplerallim Same with seeds here lucky got a few saved runner bean seeds
Got loads of flower seeds as get most of them from garden news mag, some places like animal feed shops like Moles country store sell some seeds

Went to plot other than look after chickens sawed up planks of wood for front of compost bin not far off the top ( removable planks put into slots)
Few more people about today - one plot neighbour strimmed the grass around his plot and on his plot and I could hear the other neighbour on plot next door to him moaning about the grass on her plot and trying to rake it off her potatoes and spring onions

Gardengirl, the seeds free with mag are usually veg seeds, some I wouldn't necessarily grow for instance cauliflower, I'm not very good with carrots either.

    Going to the plot later.

Courgettes are starting to show, must get out this afternoon and do something on the veg plot, in lazy mode this morning and other than getting baskets and pot flowers out of the shed for a bit of sun, not got going yet!

The carrots had got so big that I planted them out today, and sowed a couple of rows direct too.
Sprayed the apple with soapy water to help with greenfly and apple moth.
    Lots of watering.

Managed to get going eventually, my son pitched in this afternoon, so we got the first quarter of the root bed fully prepped and in went the first 4 rows of parsnips, with lettuce in between. Sky has been looking broody for the last couple of hours, like it wants to rain, just a few spits so far, sitting it out to see if I need to do watering later or not.

Few more seedlings stating both sorts of sweetcorn and popping corn, just some courgettes and cucumber, cosmos doing well <3 have some spinach and cauliflower up  did well last year with growing them
    Very wet today
Yesterday part emptied out compost bin turned to another bay until I saw babies in a nest did not know the rat had babies (very pink so very new) so covered back up that bit will leave the rest for now - so spring time on my plot may not be birds in the houses

Don't feel bad if the babies disappear, rats will often move them if they are disturbed.
