I have noticed that several plots are looking a lot more tidy since lockdown

Having to water every time we go there

As requested update on the garage propagator. Set it up today, it is a full 10 degrees cooler in the garage than the potting shed, that's with the shed window and doors open, so I think it is going to be a good move.

Stuff in there, 10 Tomato (Moneymaker) , 10 Courgette (All Green Bush), 20 Sweet Corn (Bodacious RM F1), 5 Marrow (F1 Piccolo) a little dwarf variety not tried before, 5 Pumpkin (Hundredweight), opposite massive variety and the first batch of 5 Dwarf French Beans (Tasman).

Gemma JF , looks impressive , often thought about one , perhaps when this is over
Our seeds are starting to come up
2 potatoe sacks are looking good in g/h , will need to come out soon , have put plastic bottle in centre to get water to bottom this time

The propagator was a big investment for me. I don't really have the right spot for a greenhouse (or the money for one) so I went for a pretty full on propagator with temperature control and daylight tubes as a compromise. I make a lot of use of it, hardly ever empty as when it is not needed for the veg, it is great for cuttings and early flower seeds too.

Looking good Gemma. I've an electric window sill propagator, not as impressive as yours. I also wait till weeds start to grow in the GH before starting to sow in unheated propagators. Hardy annuals usually do well to start and then the more hardy veg varieties.

Didn't sow aubergines, toms, chillies and peppers until last week though, some are already up but every so tiny.

Planted out broad beans today and started a nursery bed with leeks. Potted up brussels and sowed courgette seeds.

Bit too hot to do ground work today, so did normal garden chores, mowing etc. Thought I would take a picture of the veg plot though.Still work to be done to prepare the bean and roots beds, but moving in the right direction and hopefully parsnips and first carrots will go in next week. Boards show where I finished off on Thursday with the main crop tatties.
