  • I cut the tops off the new Asparagus today and mulched over the tops. I  also got some woodchip, for a path at the side of the same bed. Cold wind took the edge off the sun so didn't stay too long.

Another trip to plot this morning, dug up what was left of parsnip, got more than I thought, spoke to another plot holder , all his parsnips & carrots 🥕 had been eaten

Stained front of shed 1 and cleared the main bed of Dalias

Had a couple of trip to allotment and relayed back chippings on paths , a yearly job  , these being delivered free to site , you just help yourself , 20 barrow loads did the trick
Major prune to a Budlia & clematis for burning
Tidied up Rhubard bed & mulched it
Going to plot on Wednesday to pick Christmas veg , sprouts , Jureslum artichokes, red & green cabbage , leeks , carrots 🥕

Have a good Christmas everyone 🥂
  • You too @GWRS 🎅🎁🥂
  • Managed to finish a large section of digging today.  Not sure when I will harvest parsnips,  sprouts etc, as it's looking like our family Christmas will be delayed a few days.  We have 1 GD isolated, her 10 days is up on 27th as long as no-one else gets it  in the meantime.
Happy solstice and a good Christmas to all you Allotmenters.

I hope you all had a good Christmas 🎄

Happy new Year to everybody 🥂
  • Happy New Year all, looking forward to the new season already it will creep up so quickly like it does every year. I went up to the plot the other morning in the heavy drizzle just to take the kitchen scraps and check on things, everything looked ok but I'm glad that I got most of the digging done early as the ground looks saturated at the moment, I also took the opportunity to cover a section of rhubarb up for blanching.
  • Happy New year to all fellow Allotmenteers.  I haven't been since Christmas eve, as its been so wet, might try tomorrow just to check things out.

  • Made it there today   picked sprouts, and had a check round. All very wet and soggy,  very mild though,  the car reckoned it was 16 C quite mad. The Rhubarb is sprouting and the daffodils under the plum tree are showing green tips already.
