Thanks @Gardengirl..  I was a bit 50/50 on the compost bins, think they will look much better when filled up though!

Lovely day out today, cooler which I prefer to baking sun.

I spent hours and hours weeding the parsnip rows. Harvey earthed up the spuds a bit more.

I have some serious back problems which have not bothered me much for a couple of years, but remembered I had issues today!

Seems daft, I can pick up a bag of compost or dig all day, only to then get back twinges from doing some weeding.

Happy to have got it done though and with the baby leaf salad being handy, had a few snacks too! First taste of 2020 veg  :)

Hello everybody , a couple of hours at plot this morning
    Mainly weeding
Harvested Rhubard , Aspargus, raddish & spring onions
Hoed up main crop potatoes 🥔 , not effected by last weeks frosts but noticed it touched the first early potatoes a bit but nothing to worry about
    Soft fruit is looking good
    As ever watered

@GemmaJF Re the back pain I can sympathise I am similar, even though I tend to use a kneeling mat more I find little jobs like that give me more trouble too.
Full day at plots today, started to put out Brassicas into cage. Lots of hoeing, weeding & watering. This wind is just drying everything up. Put some chicken wire up as support for peas as they were beginning to flop. I need to do lots of strimming soon too.

Did lot more strimming today mainly all done all plot and around my plot, just a bit towards a tap around next doors corner as they are not up as wife expecting a baby in June so staying away from plot - just makes it hard to get to tap with plant up trellis - mile a minute growing out in path to poke you in the eye and long grass on path

GemmaJF nice pic of veg I have been having some nibbles of lettuce, back must of been in same place for a while so that is why sore, same with my arm and strimming still painful not as strong as before arm opp

GWRS glad all plants ok mine fine temp went down to 1.2 degrees

Bit more digging done and found a baby slow worm

Another day of hand weeding the veg, this time between onion sets. Took your advice @Gardengirl..  and made sure I wasn't in one position for too long. That involved taking lots of coffee breaks and chocolate digestives, back feels much better.  :)

Gemma & Gardengirl , I’m a great believer in tea breaks with biscuits 🍪

Lots of breaks is what I should do but don't
Spent a long time yesterday cleaning out both chicken houses and runs that was a long time at plot, today finished clearing out compost bin bay that did have the nest of rats in I have checked for a few day no sound of them - so decided to finish clearing it into other bay as the new bay I started a month ago is nearly right full mainly with chicken bedding
Then strimming evening around that path to water tap lucky middle bit had been mowed by other plot holder on plot next door so I could strim the over hanging mile a minute plant arms that wacked you in the face when having to go to that tap

Hello all , spent Friday & Sunday at allotment , needed a rest on Saturday and today
Loads of bark chippings arrived so I had 13 barrow loads to renew paths
Dug out fire pit and spread it out where we don’t grow anything , a working area
As ever a bit of weeding and put path clear on Paths
    Again lots of little jobs
Somebody gave me 2 Aubergine 🍆 plants for g/h , never grow them before
    Stay safe everybody

Went early (well early for me) yesterday just to water then get away again. Unfortunately we have "plot politics" rearing it's ugly head again, a bad apple has managed to inveigle himself onto the committee & he seems to be treating the place like his own private kingdom, ignoring all the rules and telling anyone who complains to mind their own business. I fear it may end badly for all of us.
