Removed the ground cover from last years potato bed and started digging it over, my ground has so many states depending on the time of year and where it has been covered up for a few months it is so light easy digging unbelievable that it can also be heavy difficult to dig, definitely a fan of ground cover so much so that I've actually been sewing patches into the cover sheets so they can be used next year, how desperate am I to save £6, I'll always repair thing rather than binning them and buying new.

The patching is a bit of a task I have to admit especially for someone without sowing ability but I'll keep at it, yes I will sow runner beans myself next week now that the ground has been prepared and the allotment plot greenhouse needs cleaning for the tomato plants to go in. Pumpkin, courgette, cucumbers and sweetcorn are in the greenhouse at home and should be ready to plant out in the next couple of weeks too.

More strimming,  watering and hoeing today. I also put out a few more lolo rossa lettuce.  Earthed up the first early spuds, they are finally growing properly now I have watered them a lot, hope this doesn't just encourage the slugs.

I've had a productive day, weeding.

Planted out kale, squash and peas. Planted nasturgum under the apple trees as ground cover and weeded round the currant bushes  and strawberry patch.

    Took some pictures.
