I use the cicumbers just like courgettes @GWRS , de-seeded and skins removed if they are the tough variety , and surprisingly they hold there shape. Its good hot or cold, chunky or smooth.
Allotment Boy , our plots are in a rural position so no problem with near by housing , you have to use a fire dustbin , we do have a half plot at the bottom of the site which you can take stuff for burning , it’s full of mares tail , unfortunately somebody rotated it and made it so bad it’s been abandoned
Got the last of the late main crop (Sarpo Mira) spuds out yesterday the soil was quite wet in places. A lot of slug damage again, very annoying as I spent out on Nematode treatments for slugs and other ground pests such as wireworm. At this rate I may have to give in like some of my fellow plot holders, & only grow first & second early varieties, as they generally don't get hit with slug damage.
Have been doing alot of harvesting, and making out if the produce. My fun bit this week was entering a virtual veg show. My tomatoes came 1st out of 8.🥳 never entered a show before.😁
