All 8 beds are covered in horse manure and I can now start re claiming a 3 foot x 45 foot side bed from the hedge.

Nothing inserted yet but garlic and onions due soon.

  • Yesterday managed to do a lot of strimming, I used the society's wheeled strimmer, much easier than the ones you hang on your shoulder. I am hoping the side paths wont re-grow too much now till spring.

Went to the allotment yesterday.Lovely and sunny after a few days of rain. Got rid of the remaining brussel sprouts;never seen so many whitefly in my life! Also had a swarm? of ladybirds appear round the shed while we were having a cuppa.I guess they were appreciating the warm day too  :)

    Hello all
Rather wet today, found out we will be allowed fires from 1st November from 4pm onwards each day after just has to be from 4pm - so when clocks change on weekend it will be like an hour till dark -  good though stops others making to much smell in day sometimes they stink you out may have a small one for bonfire night
The chickens go to bed about 6.30 ish when clock change will be about 5.30 or less, lots of my girls are moulting now losing there feathers which we are collecting in sandwich bags and not laying eggs

    Klink nice to see ladybirds

Allotment Boy strimmer with wheels now that would be easier on my arms, left arm still not brilliantly strong after arm opp last October

Yesterday took down a polytunnel from someones garden for free and took to the plot all in bits, polytunnel about 2m wide and high and 3 metres long, the cover has 3 windows each side bit of damage as the persons dog kept jumping through net to eat her tomatoes - so she got a greenhouse now for next years crop
Stormy weather today and really wet
