    I think I've been sold a pup!
Bought two currents from Morrisons,  one black one red, put in as sticks either side of the cherry. Grew last year, one more than the other. The big growth was cut off and put into a pot and left over winter, three of four rooted. But no flowers, didn't expect any.
This year the tall one has flowered. Yes I should have taken more notice of the leaves,  but hadn't grown currents before so didn't notice.
So is this what I suspect a summer raspberry. Sorry about the poor photo as the cherry is a bit in the way.
And this is the current, but now I'm not sure which colour as no flowers yet.

@purplerallim Does look like a raspberry or a loganberry more thornless plants - bummer not the currant you wanted

Went to plot today to find a new main gate being put in well 2 gates open in middle - so hope less squeaky noise on floor when opens as the gate dropped in middle last year hope easy to open and shut up

Late start today, but got some bird netting over the new strawberry bed, I would usually ignore the odd one pinched but the blackbirds have been tucking in like there is no tomorrow, lots of strawberries for them, none left for us. Having got it all up, decided it really needed another four support posts to look finished, job for another day.

Earlier had started work on a post for support wires for new raspberries, got post made, found masonry bit was blunt so couldn't fit to concrete fence post as intended. So a bit of a hit and miss day with two jobs started but not completed. With rain forecast for next few days a bit frustrating all round!

It wasn't until you said it that I realized what had thrown me, so I had to go out and check.
You are right @Gardengirl.. no thorns! Never even thought about loganberry, are they raspberry like fruit?

Loganberry's are a hybrid of blackberry & Raspberry so the plants look & grow like a thornless Blackberry but the fruit (or drupes as they are rightly known) are red not black. Great taste though.
Full day at plot today, watering, hoeing, general tidying and harvesting. I seem to be getting the same crops as you @GWRS, Broad beans , peas, radish, lettuce Rocket and Strawberries, and the last of the Asparagus.   :)

    Hi everyone, we're back!!!
    Have missed you all.😊
Did your plot nearly get washed away @GWRS by that big storm last night, the heavens opened here, but the only casualty I can see is the new potato stalks are now bowed over.

Still no substantive rain here, it keeps threatening but all we get is a few drops.

On the plus side I tried the first new potatoes yesterday, wonderful  even if I say so myself. So now at last we can have a meal with all fresh veg picked within hours, even after all these years it is still an important part of the season never fails to please, I am a simple soul after all.

New potatoes were 20 minutes from digging to on the plate today. Lovely  :)
