    Zoomer artichokes should be fine, I just leave them in and they pop up a lot and can spread after a while - they have only just started showing this week

    Bummer about the seeds from your propagator, most seeds that have self sown from last years plants have started popping up even a few sunflowers in garden, not sure it will get that cold to be frosty
    With your mag - are they all mostly veg seeds you get or flowers?

    No gardening, just watering . Cleaned windows instead. Oh were they grubby, how come rain is so dirty now.😡

    How odd, where do you live purplerallium, I'm in Lancashire and noticed my car was dirty the day after I'd cleaned it. In fact it was muckier than before it was cleaned :(!!

    As a child we could bring in the washing after it had rained with no problems ( which is odd with all the coal fires pumping soot out) Since being an adult, and doing my own washing, I know if they get wet they will probably need rinsing again. This covers the period before and after the clear air acts, but has made little difference. I have even moved from a town to a village and still think the rain is dirtier than it used to be.

    Sweet corn were first to show in the propagator:

    Did some rotavating, raked off a bed ready for beans/peas and courgettes. Have a frost forecast for tonight, so was in no rush to rake off the root bed, job for tomorrow after another frosting and get the Parsnips and first rows of carrots in before the end of the week.

    Full day at Allotment but most time spent applying nematodes for slugs. So much damage to spuds last year thought I would start early on them. Planted out some lettuce I had been hardening off at home. When home sowed a whole load more seeds & pricked on the tomatoes.  I have the same propagator as you @GemmaJF.  Had it over 5 years no regrets, best investment ever.

    Full day at allotment , replaced fencing and a broken fence post , it was harder than expected , a bit worn out but pleased with result . Still another section to replace
    Will have to put a picture on site

    @Allotment Boy  I like nematodes for slugs they do well as long as you keep the ground moist   - For me this year using chickens as much as possible to eat the slugs and smaller snails - they do make cute noises when find something good to eat at the allotment anyway - not in the garden

    Built a few bed areas out of pallet planks about 2m by 1 metre  - just a lot of soil clearing under and getting in the right place, really just using them as a guide for crop rotation not going to build soil up

    @GWRS that sounds knackering
    @GemmaJF good picture of sweetcorn great watching seeds I keep checking mine each day my sweetcorn not up yet but cabbage started and turnips
