Gardengirl , hope arm is getting better and you’ll soon be back to gardening
  • Thanks GWRS think it will be a while yet still in a lot of pain, Mum and Dad looking after chickens at the allotment and the smaller ones started laying eggs this week and bigger girl (Marbar) moulting for the last few weeks

Went to Woolston station garden today met the volunteer lot, had a shed man to talk about size and look of shed they fit it too - so will give a quote to the main man and then we will find out how much, think it will be a lot more than we have raised talking about a 20ft by 8ft that is big - where the old shipping container was - we a then just went for a break at local cafe to talk about things

  • Went to plot yesterday got some popping corn harvested glass gem, and lots of help with cleaning out chickens

Got shed pricing today way above budget with shed base and large shed it is about 4,700 we only have 1,200 so more funding is going to have to be done

Gardengirl , have you tried getting grants towards the cost of the shed ?
  • Yes GWRS got a small bit of grant main man did not put in for much as thought we were going to have a lot smaller shed was not sure of size then noticed in GW mag the ngs community competition so will see if we can apply for that

  • Been pruning the fruit trees, over the last couple of days, too wet underfoot to do anything else. Regular checks on the stored Apples & spuds to see if the two mices I caught were the only ones to get in, or if there are more.

  • Went to the plot today - last day of shop opening put in potato order they had the raffle did not win, watched my chickens run around digging on my plot.
so wet on plots spotted new people on plot not too far away lets see if they can make a go of it  -  not many have on that plot and with the last couple of storms the shed fell apart

Merry Christmas 🎄 & Happy New Year 🥳 to everybody
  • Same here @GWRS !

Harvested Christmas veg yesterday Parsnips are great but took ages to wash off the mud it is really really wet over there at the moment but at least I don't have standing water on my plot like many others.

A month or so back I said there was a lot of slug damage on some maincrop spuds. I need to be honest here there is a lot of damage on most of my maincrop. Considering the hot dry summer we had I have not idea why they are so bad this year.

One tiny mark on the outside!

On the plus side Parsnips are good, wont win any prizes on the show bench but they taste great.

Standing water on a neighbouring plot.
