Another good morning at plot , finished digging up last bed of potatoes 🥔
Got 4 large beds ready for planting winter onions , shallots & garlic
  • Took the car today as I was going to harvest all of my apples, while there I noticed that there was a huge orange pumpkin on the vacant plot next door, typical I thought I grew a huge pumpkin plant and didn't get a single pumpkin, it wasn't until I was in the car heading to the top of the allotment site to turn around that the penny dropped, it was my pumpkin which had grown through the fence, I stopped off at the plot and put my wellies back on trudged to the top of the plot and sure enough the pumpkin was growing on a runner from my plant hooray!

Finally got to allotment , O/H planted onions , shallots ( will buy some more ) and garlic
and then had a good burn up
Both my rose arches have snapped in winds , so started building a new one , will put a picture on when finished
    Also laid 4 slabs
Took 4 hard wood rose cutting as well
Had left a couple of lettuces that had gone to seed , just see but decided to get rid of them into compost bin
Worn out having a beer before dinner
Would like to go there on Sunday but depends on weather , hear hoping
  • Did a lot of grass cutting round my plot and on the grass "road" across the top. It was a bit damp but I hope it wont grow much now so I wont have to trudge through wet grass in the winter. At least it will activate my compost bins nicely.

Full day at allotment , got 5 small raised beds covered in manure to be left over winter
Got 2 large beds covered in membrane for winter
O/H finished planting onions & shallots and did lots of dead heading
I planted broad beans & spring onions under cloches
Finished repairing rose arch , one more to go
Subject to weather might get everything done before Winter comes

Went to plot this morning and took 12 bags of wet rubbish to tip , would normally have burnt this . Normal route flooded so had to go the long way around
